Door Rattle

2012 Tacoma access cab with 54,000 miles. I live up a gravel road and while driving the drivers door has a rattle sound and I can’t figure out where or why anyone else with this problem on the second generation? Anything I can tighten or look for?

 

Does it sound like there is something in the door that is rattling or does it sound like the whole door is rattling?

 

Window control switch might be loose. Turned out to be my illusive door rattle.

 

Had this issue. Removed it and put piece of duct tape neat the clip under it to create tension and it went away. Did it to both sides.

 

It sounds like the whole door like the door latch inside the door or something

 

Try tightening the latch bracket on the frame. My old Honda civic used to rattle like that but I tightened the bracket and it solved the problem.

 

Check the bolts that secure the window to the window lift motor. If lose, put some loctite on and tighten em up.

 

It may not the door.

Take your left foot and put it behind the parking brake and pull your toes towards you. My parking brake lever rattles when on dirt/washboard/off road. I have yet to come up with a proper solution for it.

It took me quite a while to narrow down this noise, but I was thinking it was the dash or door.

 

My 2006 had a loose window frame 10mm bolt. Removed side panel(s) and tightened it up. Checked both sides. On my 2014, I checked when I replaced speakers.

 

Take the door panel off and start checking shit.

Probably the window frame/track/motor

 

There's a whole thread about this somewhere and it was the weather seal. Get some spray silicone, use the straw, and give every hole in the seal hell. I believe it said an obnoxious amount and I had it dripping out the bottom of the door for a day but the rattle in my ear went away

 

What is the latch bracket? My whole door sounds like it's rattling when I hit a bump, sounds like this could be the trick for me!
