Hah, the only Tacoma's I've had was an 09 which I traded in for my 3rd gen. Never heard such noises before. First day home with the 2014 I heard that and was like WTF!? Then realized it has the air pump the 09 didn't have. It's super loud when I get home at night when everything is quiet outside.

I got the PM with the other video, thank you!

I did take mine apart- my torx set is MIA (we just moved and have tools stored on another property so who knows) but oddly enough this happened to be the same size as the deck screws I use everywhere else so I've got bits everywhere.

The sponge feels new- I gave it a good squish and tug and I don't think it'll ever break down in my climate. This truck has ~125k on the ODO.
I'm thinking it's probably a problem for people out west or down south- here in the northeast it just doesn't get that hot for that long.
My 99 came from florida and had to have pretty much every plastic bit replaced in the first few years I had it. this '13 is more or less local (actually it came from hawaii but got moved here) and none of the plastic bits have deteriorated yet.

Cool. We have recently vacationed up in coastal Maine a couple of summers and it seemed like most of the vehicles running around up were Tacomas and Subarus.

I lived in the city for a while- but moved north about five years back- and then last month, we moved north again.

It blows my mind what you don't see on the road out here- once the tourists go home, its toyota and chevy out here. Every now and then you'll see some kid in a new dodge, or a couple of fleet-owned fords.
No VWs! I saw a passat on someones lawn last week and it took me a minute to place it. I guess the VW people just don't dare get this far away from the city with their break-down-mobiles.

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.

Yet you waited all these years to talk about this mooing? Does it Moo for anybody or just moo for you?

This is becoming reminiscent of the famous Mr. Ed!

Oh, no- "that truck" was referring to my 99 that I'll be selling soon (locally only aparently) - the 2013 I recently purchased is the one that moo's.

Yeah, but it's pretty off topic for this thread. I'll shoot you a PM.

@netman86 I could not agree more the Secondary Air Injection failure prone. The question is not "If" it will fail but "When" it will fail. I wanted to provide some additional resources for anyone comes across this thread in the future.

Just to add: After installing the Uni Filter mod on my truck the whine volume ("moo") was reduced quite a bit. I can still hear it, especially on shutdown, but it's not as loud.
