I have a2007 Toyota Tacoma 4WD with a neutral safety switch problem. When I ran a diagnosis, it came up with a code 0705 (Transmisson Range Sensor Circuit (PRNDL input). I purchased the part and took to my mechanic to install. He could not remove the old one because he stated the old one was seized/welded on the shaft. He explained that to remove it he would have to remove the transmission. There has to be away to remove the old neutral safety switch without removing the transmission.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

I guess I no other options but to cut it off. Wish me luck! One other question I forgot to ask will the P0705 malfunction affect the 4WD indicators or activation?

It could prevent it from going in/out of 4low but shouldn't have any effect on 2h and 4h.

Thanks! FYI, The 4WD indicator lite on the dash flashes 4LO. Based on your information the neutral safety switch could be the culprit not the Transfer Case Actuator?

If the truck isn't in 4low but the light is flashing I'm gona say it's probaly not the neutral safety switch causing it, if the truck is in 4low and won't come out then yes it could be the switch causing it.

You can always check your inputs at the 4wd ECU as outlined in the thread below to verify what the problem is.
