Here in PA every case, every ****ing case of CWD has been traced back to captive deer on deer farms. PA's solution? Set up disease mgmt areas where you have to use a butcher within that area, same with taxidermy. Can't use deer urine based lures, even though deer farms within the disease mgmt area produce it. Any efforts to shut the farms down are met with extreme resistance. And the kicker is, the deer farms fall under the aupsice of the Dept of Agriculture, not the PGC.

I "THINK" deer farms are under the Dept. of Agriculture and NOT Div. of Wildlife in Ohio, too.......considered a BUSINESS. The CWD occurrences in Ohio have also popped up near deer farms and special restrictions are then placed around them, BUT the deer farms are still allowed to operate statewide. Big $$$$ involved in the deer farms and "hunting" preserves here.

Yup. There was a Deer Farm Association or some such that showed up on my FB feed. I basically told them they were responsible for CWD. Got several responses that they weren't responsible, and the first case of CWD in a deer farm didn't show up until 2016 or so. It was "naturally occuring." I asked them if they really wanted to continue with their bullshit and they were confident in their lies. I posted a PGC report that showed the FIRST case of CWD in PA was in 2012, Adams County in a fenced CAPTIVE DEER HERD. They pulled the entire post. Bastards.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
Went out for youth day w/ the kid on Saturday. Saw 4 does (2 decent) and a yearling. No chance to shoot.

Heading out tonight for first day of regular season. Still want to get me something 8pt+ in full velvet. Unfortunately they seem to be smart enough to not come out on camera at least until after shooting time ends.
