Sup guys it’s been awhile, got a promotion at work and back to days I go!
Quick question. The tranny I have for the conversion has its wires cut, is there somewhere that sells a wre harness for the tranny or should I get it re-wired by a shop

 

My mom bought me a copy as a gift several years ago. I’ll post a few pages when I find it on the shelf.

 

my every day gauges are these with these hoses. Dont pull out any of my other ones unless i have too. Probably had them like 4+ years now, and other then changing the dial because i drop them every now and then i have no issues.

You can buy rubber boots for the dials to protect them

you can buy the guages as a kit with hoses but i like having ball valves on mine. You can get shorter hoses too

 

DV gets storms like that every so often, this one was supposedly a "once in a century" event but I've seen people reference past storm stats from the area in the early 2000s and 1960s that were comparable.

at any rate the rain was much needed but the only place that's gonna benefit from it is Death Valley itself, few storms reached civilization but nothing to that magnitude

 

Thanks yall, gives me a range to look at. I know the expansion valve is leaking on the taco, and pretty sure the girlfriends car is going to need some work sooner or later.

Use the same ones and they’re great. Always have to buy new can taps though… they fail so often.

 

I just buy 30lb bottles of 134a lol. Hook the hose strait to it.

For those that have followed me on my change of career path...

Today I got asked if I wanted to do some side work, which I did.

Half-way through the day, the company I did 2 interviews (Friday and Monday) with as well as a weld test (Zane, you sent me good vibes for that one), called and made me a job offer.

Plus side, more pay than welding jobs around me, benefits (don't need, double covered), huge potential for growth (don't need, I'm fortunate enough to not need much pay), hell even a signing bonus paid out in 3 separate paychecks.

Downside, hours are 2-10 after initial training, and it's 40mins away each way (not too bad).

While I was at my side job today, I got to talking to 2 welders that told me to check out their company. Long story short, after my side job I headed right over and did an interview just 20mins before closing. They want me, but contingent upon tomorrow mornings weld test.

Plus side, 5mins from home.

Downside, less pay to start with (because I did tell them what the offer was that I got earlier) but that's not a bad thing cause I don't require much fortunately.

We'll see how the weld test goes tomorrow at the company nearby but I'm really torn as to which way to go.

The company that made me the offer is where I'll be doing stainless steel pipe and other things via stainless steel.
