Added a trailer brake controller. The Tacoma and the land cruiser both have a factory connector behind the dash. I ordered 2 of these adapters

so now I can swap the controller between vehicles just by unplugging the wire harness from the back of it and unclipping it from the mount.

my plan is to add trailer brakes to my aluma a888 atv trailer because the Tacoma is scary to try to make an emergency stop if someone slams on their brakes in front of me. Too many close calls already. Plus, we’re looking at getting a camping trailer and I would feel a lot better if that has trailer brakes too.





Also, I have had an intermittent P0420 check engine light. I had my mechanic at work hook up a computer and read the o2 sensors. The bank 1 sensor 2 was not following the correct wave form, so I replaced that. Since it was intermittent, it will take a while to know if it did anything, so I need to get him to read it again and see if it looks better. I ordered an o2 sensor socket, but didn’t feel like waiting for it to get here. I found that the plug end of the o2 sensor fits through the box end of a wrench, so that made it pretty easy. Had to drop the transmission skid plate though.

 

I have that too. Haven't done anything about it yet

 

Nice! Im surprised the O2 sensor came out nicely. Never used an o2 sensor socket. Always just used a wrench

 

yea I put it off for about a year. Really only did anything because my mechanic could pinpoint which one to replace.

 

A little pb blaster and a dead blow hammer to tap on the wrench, but it’s also only been in the Y pipe for 2 or 3 years. The ones in the exhaust manifold would probably but up a bigger fight.

 

How many miles on the "big nig" now?

 

the odometer say 135,000.. but it’s been off ever since I went to 315’s.. so I’d guess 150,000 ish

trip odometer says 200 miles when gps says 220.

 

I’m still under 200K

think I’ve driven less than 600 miles all this year.

I'd love to do a trip down to Va & camp at FPK then do a OneWheel ride on the Virginia Creeper Trail...
