Thanks for the reply. Kentucky is where I need it. Trying to read up on them now. Would be nice to use in a small plane as well.

I use amsoil filter, is the TRD filter superior?

Also, I don't know who thinks tilting the oil filter hole is a great idea, it reduces the horizontal intercept area after putting on the funnel, and I unfortunately spilled some pouring with the gallon jug, I'll from now on only order quart bottles so I won't spill

Is there an easy way to know what kind of extended range to expect with these. Like at a point where I normally lose service, this will give me another ______ feet, yards, miles, etc. or meters, km being this is a Japanese truck forum. Or maybe it’s more complicated than that ? Havnt been able to gather much .

it doesn’t give you service if there is no signal, it just boosts the signal it can find. They are typically more powerful than your cell phone, so it will give you a bit when you otherwise would not have any. I’ve been using them for years and they are handy if you are on road between towns on in valleys that don’t get much service. Out in the middle of no where they don’t do much

edit: east coast and you probably will get coverage most spots, out west, there is still plenty of no service areas

It goes really good with TRD shift knob and other TRD red bits. I even changed the screen accent to red :)

Yeah like Geotaco said if there isn’t any signal you ain’t getting any. It really helps me but sometimes the mountains get too high and block the signal when you are in the valleys. The best way I can describe it is like a difference between signal in the winter vs summer. When the trees are leaved out signal is weak and winter it’s better. It’s hard to put a number on it but I can talk when most can’t.
    Edit

Don't feel bad. I only had 213 miles on a new TRD nursing it along at 55mph to break it in and hit a damn deer.

Carriage bolts with two side filed down a bit work great also.

Nice! I’ve been using a similar arrangement for road trips for a while but using Inno Rack C channel bed rail mounts 5DFEE791-0A5C-47D4-B64A-00E3D12BB7A0.jpg00DCBE0D-0752-43F9-8B15-B36F0CE3744B.jpg

I had the chirp and squeal problem and bought the idler pulley from the dealership for about $80... turned out it was the belt. Got a Dayco premium belt from Advance Auto Parts for like $40 and it fixed my squeal.

I found an online source that ships OEM parts for literally half. Pretty rare for us here. :canada:
    toyotapartsdirect.ca
    Decent OEM prices^^
    Going to go with them.
Air filters are also about 15 bux cheaper too lol.
I haven't taken my scope to the pulleys yet to figure what pulley it could but I'm always the believer of if you're in there anyways and it's accessible just replace it. Especially the high wear and tear stuff. Our tensioner is pricey though no matter where you go.

yes, works fine, usually, I have a few bars of signal, now I have full bars most of the time(of course except in the remote areas). Don't see an increase of internet speed but it's ok, based on the information it will mostly improve calls/text messages in areas where you got almost nothing.
