I finally got my left one done a week ago. Taking it easy, have home PT coming out (4x first week, 3x second, 2x third) then will be driving into my local PT place.

Do as much as you can now! Get those muscles in shape. Leg lifts, side lifts, bridges, etc. It will pay off for Physical Therapy to help break up scar tissue and restore range of motion.

I had Styker Triathalon. TKA. Pico pump wound dressing (vacuum sealed to top of leg, so I could shower), On-Q pain pump pumps numbing agent for four days to the nerve that goes to the front of the knee. I can not tolerate opioids (which shuts down my colon) or NSAIDs (history of stomach ulcer) so this hasn't been fun but keeps thinking of good days to come when I can resume hiking.

Finally took a shower at day 6, which felt wonderful. Promptly napped for an hour as I was exhausted!

Six weeks for bone to grow into implant to secure it, and tendons to reform. You'll feel great at week three, but give the bone time to grow and follow your PT (Sir Yes Sir, you're in boot!).

 

Nawww. They're good people and actually downsizing. Started with 5 kids and now down to 3 so It's time to move.
Nice home and directly across the valley from the only ski resort in St Louis.

For the record I've not cut grass or trimmed in over a decade. "Ain't got time fo dat shit" LMAO
I have recently made the comment that in central Missouri, and West Virginia, the women do all the yard work. It's really telling to me. Never noticed but they are out there workin it.

Keep at it with the PT and remember this phrase , " Pain is Weakness leaving the body " and push yourself past the pain and you'll recover quickly

I've been doing at home PT 3x's a week on both upper and lower body exercises and using ankle weights , dumbbells and elastic thera bands . I'm also walking over a mile daily so I'm more than ready for this knee replacement

I'm just hoping this knee replacement is easier than the right knee that was replaced in 2014 . The right knee had (4) revision surgeries , the last one was in October 2019

beautiful weekend in store. 70’s and lower humidity. got a ton of yard work to do. grilling ribeyes and chicken for supper. was exhausted last nite. worked 12 plus hrs. we did an extended lunch on my line. the rookies have crashed it soo many times since my bud retired. they knocked a clamp cam out of time(rare) so me and 4 shop guys tore into at 12 and were done at one. everyone knew what to do and it flowed like as eficient as possible. i had crawled underneath on the run,cleaned oil and paper shavings and put new asorbant pig mat down so it wasnt too messy of a job. yup it was out of time. as far as camping on the couch. last nite i curled up on ours with pillows and opened the sliding door to hear the crickets and nite creatures in the woods. just like camping. wife got me up to go to bed at 6. just woke up. needed that bad. good day to all
