I like it a lot.

I don't use the solunar charts as much as I used to. But, it's nice to have the information.

Back when I was fishing Flathead catfish regularly, the charts were almost scary accurate at times. I could usually predict when we would get a run in the middle of the night if the chart showed an activity period. We could go hours without a hit, and, if the chart showed an activity period between say, 12:30 and 1:30 a.m., we generally would get a couple of hits during that time. And then, back to nothing. A lot of times I would just sleep on shore and wait to hear a bell. I actually really miss doing this.

I actually drew up a generic lunar calendar and marked days when I caught big fish. I learned that the new moon was most productive, and that a 3rd quarter would usually produce an early fish (before dark). It was pretty interesting.

Damn, thinking about this reminds me that I used to be really serious about fishing!

 

It really is a wonderful group of people here, I'm glad I found it when I picked up my Pickup.
