Well the bypasses are on. Actually nice, fun and will enjoy it for a bit.

Now that I’ve wheeled with the howe pump, I cannot stress enough how much of an upgrade it is, both playing in the rocks and going fast over little choppy type rocks. It’s weird having such a smooth steering wheel.

Big difference. I think the added uptravel from sua would be a big improvement. But, unless you’re spending a lot of time chasing other LT and sua trucks, the cost/effort/benefit ratio is tough to decide. Like you said, drive it for a bit and let’s play with the bypasses before deciding.

That was fun today. Nice to know more what the truck can do. SUA is still a contender, but not a hi pri

Get some trips under the trucks belt as is and let’s see what happens. Sad to say we took the 4runner out this evening and it’s gonna be close for who’s faster now. Slight advantage me on local trails

Thats interesting, because I was told anything over 200lbs the HD's would be best. As far as the HD pack carrying 700lbs, I don't see it happening.

This is what I have experienced with real world stuff. Over 200 is pushing the standard pack and anything over 500 and is just too much weight for a Tacoma in general

    Thank you.
Generally it’s not alway heavy. But when I load up for my trips is where the weight comes. When you have to make 300+ miles between fuel stops on tracks that you’ll be in 4Low for much of it. MPG tanks. Plus 8-10+ days off grid. Means a lot of water too. Which I carry on them trips 16-20gal. Because there’s also lots hiking going on.

The truck if fun right now. Plus I have a shake down run in the San Juan mountains in a few weeks. Then; The Maze in September for 10 days.

There's no way you're going to make it work good both loaded and unloaded unless you link it and swap springs. I have however heard of people running air shocks with SUA to allow some adjustability. But I don't imagine it would be too hot in the go fast department.

Nah. I ask a lot of the truck.
It’s fun now. So other than the time to do the inner fenders. Time to enjoy the truck. Get my Dirt Therapy. It’s one of the only ways I keep it together.

Every time I see someone recreate that truck, I get hit with all the childhood nostalgia. Loved TS1 growing up.

If you go to the pizza planet look with the trekker that would be fucking cool. I believe there was a patch made at one point that had the pizza planet truck nosed into a shop being linked and caged... this would be the real life version of the patch... only far more bad-ass

Curious if anybody has done the EMPI 930 cv boots for the outers yet. I blew out an OE boot already so I am giving these a shot. Should be much happier at higher angles as well.

I can't leave anything well enough alone
Worth a shot if you can change easily. I'd say go for it. I see it has a different rounded bellows design compared to the other options, so it might be great. Or, bellows might touch/rub each other more easily. I've been told there isn't much better for durability than the oem plastic type boot, so it is obvious you are extending at angles it can't handle. RCV told me they wish they could get that stock style boot for their axles. I know the clearance you have with a LT kit is different, but for folks with stock length arms, the boot to shock bolt clearance can become an issue with the larger diameter, more bellows designs.
