Couldn’t find a good used shell, so I opted for new with all the stuff I wanted on it. Leer 180.

PFL Customs roof rack, Body Armor Hi-line bumper. X20 Gen 2 Smittybilt winch, PFL Customs bed rack. Dirt bound rack supports.
Finally got my tent off the truck, been on there since April. Little sundamaged, little snow damaged but over all held up great, the molle was rattle canned so going to take those off strip and powdercoat.

    Many!
I wouldn't be surprised if Amsoil makes the TRD filter. They look exactly the same except for the TRD stamped on one end. The TRD filters are all I use. Much better than the Origami ones for sure!

Finished wiring up some blue seas stuff in the cubby and wire in some led strips to it. Also put in the side wall of a bed rug.

Latest is finding a console Molle that only covers the under-dash portion of the console, so that it doesn't interfere with the seat or my chalk bag. :anonymous: I'm happy with it.

    PXL_20220812_210057354.jpg

    Before:

    PXL_20220810_225515812.jpg

... More importantly, my truck had almost never fought back from my dicking around, and this week it nailed me three times.:mad::mad:

First, when I was doing speakers I fucked up a rear seat cover from laying something heavy on top of something pokey. :annoyed:. Thanks to clazzios' wonderful customer service that'll at least give me the opportunity to compare their bottom of the line PVC against their leather, since replacement panels are fixed price.

Then , when fitting the driver's seat back into place I had somehow gouged the shit out of the steering wheel trim. :annoyed::annoyed:. I have a choice of buying an entire switch panel off of parts.Toyota for 150-ish, or I can buy a set of tuffskinz to cover up my boo-boo. I'm fucking cheap, I went with the second. Waiting for that one in the mail too.

Then yesterday when I was installing the above Molle panel, my TRD shift knob somehow exploded as I was reattaching it. I can't even fucking explain that one. :annoyed::annoyed::annoyed: This gave me a unique opportunity to compare the official Toyota TRD knob against the 30 dollar chinesium, which I will do now:

    PXL_20220812_205725958.jpg

Aside from the very obvious lack of TRD embossing, the chinesium knob has a very subtle seam running through the middle that the TRD doesn't. I thought it would be much worse in person that it is in pictures, but it really isn't noticable at all when installed. But that's it. Both are similar in weight, both have similar quality leather, fitment and assembly. It's just seam or no seam. And you can't feel the seam, nor can you really see it after install. Go back to my first two pictures. Top is Chinese, bottom is Toyota.

$30 Chinese knob wins, in my book. :bananadance:

I don’t have blind spot monitoring so had to add these mirrors. They fit the contour of the side mirrors. I was gonna do the RAV4 side mirrors but it’s $75. These were $8 and they can tilt up and down

I’ve been thinking of going the same route for the tundra. It’s not a TRD anyway so $30 sounds like a win for me and doubt my hands would tell much of a difference

I'm incredibly anal in that if I percieve a flaw, no matter how small or infrequently used, it's going to eat at me until I get off my ass and fix it or replace it.

My hands can't tell the fake knob from the real. My eyes aren't drawn to the telltale seam even though I'm looking for it. That makes it a win. I'm happy with the $30 knob even though I really don't want to be.

It's not $30 but it's still cheaper than the TRD knob: [IMG]

Installed head bead rail, Rago Fabrication bed rail traction board mounts (these things are rock solid), Extreme Maxtrax mounts and Bracketeer fire extinguisher mount all done. Last mod this year will be left hand dash panel plate to fit the Auxbeam, new double switch with the wiring of course.

Wish list for the year is almost done. CC needs to come up for air ;)
