Kansas City metro area. I’d love an Army Green Access cab 6ft bed 4WD automatic w/Technology package. It’s a valid config on the Toyota build your own site but a true unicorn. Double cab is a waste of garage space as I’ll never have passengers and would use the 6ft bed more. Tech package is my killer request. There are ZERO of these nationwide in Autotrader. Saw one in Michigan in manual with tons of other options on it.

I would even travel for it if a dealer was selling to non-locals. Which seems 50/50 these days.

I’m driving a ‘98 Dakota with no issues so I can wait. It just sounds like waiting will be a different color if they are discontinuing this one. Lunar Rock would be my next choice which also is rumored to be out next year.

i guess back to the standard black/white/grey/red.

They are dropping Lunar Rock too. So what's left? I'm assuming Electric Lime will move to the ORs and you get that new sunburst orange? Seems like '23 will be a boring model year for colors. Cement is gone. Inferno is gone.

    From Google search:

    New Color Options

2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro: One of the many updates to the TRD Pro is the all new Solar Octane exclusive color option. Other exterior color options include, White, Magnetic Gray Metallic, and Black. The TRD Pro also features a heritage-inspired front grille along with a blacked-out hood scoop and graphic color-keyed power outside mirrors.

2023 Trail Edition: The Trail Edition returns for the 2023 model year, offered in four exterior colors that include Lunar Rock, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Black, and White. Adding to the design the front grille features unique bronze-colored lettering along with rear bumpers that are color-keyed to match the exterior paint color.

TRD Sport and TRD Off-Road: The TRD Sport and the TRD Off-Road offer two different takes on the TRD approach to sport truck performance, perfect for drivers looking for a sportier option while keeping the same off-roading capabilities. Both will now be available in the color Electric Lime for the 2023 model year.

So if you don’t like Solar Octane or Lime Green (that would be me), we are back to old stock colors other than the Lunar Rock Trail Edition. That sucks.

I saw a Lime Green 4Runner and a Solar Octane Tundra at the dealership, I wouldn't want either. Wife likes the Solar Octane. It's less goofy than the Lime.

Were they willing to do anything for you, or just "sorry"? Maybe there are some unsold ones that are in the process of being transported to a dealership. Did you ask?
That s_x. I'm sorry to hear that. Even with things the way they've been, that seems so bad for the consumer, why not engage the "engagement team"?

There is an AG Limited coming into Greer Toyota in Greer, SC at the end of the month I believe, may still be unspoken for. Be warned, it has a 6k market adjustment on it, that why I walked, lol

Dealers are still trying for insane markups? Wow…. I think the car price crash will be rapid. Anyone look at graphics cards lately? -50-70% since last year.
Right now is the worst time to overpay for a car/truck. The market will crash soon enough. My guess is spring 2023.

To be fair, the reason for the GPU crash is due to Crypto bottoming out, killing the overdemand for new ones, and all of the miners are trying to offload their graphics cards which is oversaturating the secondary market.
It's literally more profitable for them to sell their hardware now than to try to farm with it.

I was a little taken aback by the 6k on a limited, would have made sense for a pro. The nightshade I (allegedly) have coming has a 2k markup, which is unfortunate, but small enough I am willing to pay it and not be glued to my computer trying to find one, lol

Yeah, I wonder if I win the award for quickest build-to-delivery? I mean, there's still a part of me that wonders if it's legit. As in, did the dealership notify me about the wrong vehicle? haha. Guess I'll find out either way in a couple of days!

Agree 100%. I've been following this thread for over 6 months, and I remember frequently reading posts from folks who wanted basic/simpler Tacomas but were instead getting matched up with upmarket models with tech/NAV packages etc. So instead of conserving sensors/chips for customers who actually wanted them, Toyota's production system ended up flooding the market with them. Therefore many earlier customers paid more than they needed to for extra features they didn't even want, and now with the ongoing shortages, more recent customers are often not getting their vehicles at all, or having to settle for less or missing features.

So yeah, you are looking for a unicorn. There is a total of 26 Access cab sport on Army Green, that is nationwide. Out of those only two have the Tech Package, one shows as presold. The other does not but is on California so I assume the markup will be pricey. Now manual transmission they have 29 with the Tech package, out of 97 total. I know there is a spec sheet out there to look at all the inventory, just gotta make so calls if you are willing to travel.

That is actually a perm VIN, the truck rail departed 08/09 out of Long Beach in route to Rolla.
    Estimated Dealer Arrival: Aug 16, 2022 - Aug 27, 2022

I would ‘settle’ on config locally where I can buy at MSRP+299 doc fee before paying a market upgrade. I would however travel. Do you think Lunar Rocks are any better? Likely not, I think it’s the access cab/auto/tech that’s my problem more than the Army Green.

There are a few on the Lunar Rock as well, all the automatics are on the west coast. Manuals are all in the East coast, Crown Toyota in Lawrence, Kansas shows they have one allocated. Manual with TP, seems to be the only one in the Midwest or surrounded areas.
