Not sure how much stock I would put in these figures but I'd def. seriously consider trading in my TRD OR for a similar hybrid if it's even close to 38MPG.
Just spent over $400.00 on gas for my last trip with the truck fully loaded. Averaged less than 16mpg even with a lot of it being highway miles.

They definitely went out of their way to gather all of the facts.

Wait that isn't an actual photo of the Toyota Warthog? I mean Tacoma
Honestly I'd be happy with the rear suspension update and ~ 27MPG.
Anything after that would be gravy.

Wow. That’s some quality journalism there. Take the mpg from a minivan and a sedan and then assume a truck will get more?

For those worried about electric grid capacity as well as powering EVs based on dirty electric production here’s some numbers. In 2022 the US is looking at a net production increase of 10-20GW of electricity and replacing about 14GW of fossil fuel produced power with an larger capacity of wind and solar.

New law looks to impact EV sales. Upfront credit instead of tax credit but limited to certain incomes, certain car prices and those manufactured in the US

I saw a Rivian in person yesterday for the first time. It seemed a bit larger than my Tacoma but not as big as a full size truck.

    That's all I got.

I never realized that the Tacoma ran on fairy dust and could never run out of fuel. Weird.

An EV won't leave you stranded any more than a gas vehicle will leave you stranded. If you're an idiot and run out of fuel for either it's your own fault in 95% of cases.

If you want to stop at a truck stop or walmart parking lot every 200 miles to charge. Much more convenient to stop at a gas station for five minutes and get back on the highway.
There's always a silver lining. R1T is the most popular truck among 1st husbands.

I'd like to see what people's pets think about their owners driving an electrick truck. Some how I think dogs would prefer to ride in a vehicle equipped with an internal combustion engine.

I don't think anyone has said that is not the case. It's a well known fact that ICE vehicles are more convenient on long trips.

Wild theories about how people are going to die because an EV ran out of charge and stranded them in the cold are just a load of bullshit journalism by people too stupid to write real articles.

I’d like to see some real numbers on what the average stop for gas really takes. I know that in Oregon, it doesn’t matter how fast you are since you’re dependent on the person pumping the gas.

I'd have to plug in more often than I stop for gas.

Do you own/rent a house? If you drive less than 200 miles a day you'd plug in at your house each night and never stop for gas again.

People have died when their ICV left them stranded. They decided to get out and walk, I think it was weather related and had nothing to do with what powered the stranded vehicle.

In a situation like that I think I'd rather be in an ICV, with a full tank of fuel.
