This will be my next mod for my 6MT Taco. The removal of the weird throttle mapping under 3k rpm will be worth it. The power is just a bonus.

You will love the throttle response change! I have been running this on my manual for a while both before and after a regear to deal with weight additions.

Had a conversation with @wahoobie yesterday via PM, and I ordered the DIY setup this morning. Hopefully by this time next week I'll be able to experience the tune in all it's glory!

When the Pro+ XT tune first came out I tried both normal and sport before regearing my truck. Before that I ran the previous KDMAX manual tune with a sport throttle. I personally prefer the sport throttle and that is what I run. The difference is really how quickly the throttle responds when the accelerator is pressed. If you are mpg sensitive run the normal throttle as it will give you better mpg because you are less likely to gun the throttle. I also run the sport because of how heavy my truck is, about 1000lbs over stock, and it needs that quicker pickup when I need to have it.

If you haven't tuned your truck it will absolutely change the feel of the truck. If you are used to older manuals then the next thing after the tune to do is the accumulator delete which will give you a more direct feel on clutch engagement. The accumulator is a buffer reservoir in the clutch line that reduces the chance of engaging too fast or slow but if you are experienced with manuals it is unnecessary. The tune along with that delete makes these trucks amazing to drive as manuals.

Yes. Hook up to the truck, turn on the ignition and click Prepare ECM. Then it will tell you your truck information in the box to the right.

Last week I went from pro+ to pro+ xt. Truck feels exactly the same but lost a solid 2 mpg. Went from 19-20 to 17-18, That is the only difference. Power and everything feels the same. I'm ready to go back if this is what I get

Drive it through a couple more tanks of gas before you pass judgement.
I noticed an improvement with mine almost immediately. My gas mileage did drop, but that was because I was playing with it more since I had my tuner put set my throttle to Sport. I'm loving the throttle response now, AND the way it drives now since the transmission doesn't hunt a lot.

Appreciate the response. All I’m saying is I see no improvement over pro+ and a loss of mileage. I’ve already put about 200 miles on the tune and it’s not better than the previous tune. With pro + I saw an instant difference. Both tunes I have the lite throttle and they feel exactly the same which is good for me. But the hit in gas mileage is not good. Same easy driving, I don’t have a heavy foot

Do you do mostly city/in-town stop and go driving? The reason I ask is that the Pro+XT (Xtra Torque) uses the Pro+ tune as its base, but is designed to hold your gears a bit longer and get your RPMs up so that you can take advantage of the low end torque in the higher RPM range. What I noticed with mine (I also have the lite throttle setting) is that if I did in-town driving with a lot of 2-3 blocks, stop for a light, go another 2-3 blocks, stop for a light, etc., my MPG did take a slight hit. Once you get to a stretch where you aren't running through your gears as much (major road, highway, etc.), that number comes up again. You may be experiencing the same thing I'm seeing, but I would suggest you give it at least 300 miles for the tune to settle in before you decide. You can also contact your tuner if you have any questions or concerns. I'm sure he/she will be happy to help.

I'm sure @PapaRee can chime in and correct me if I said anything wrong, but that's my $0.02 :)
