This rack was port installed. Dealer included it for free because I put down my deposit for a DCLB SR5 4wd
and had them add it. They couldn't get an SR5 allocated though. When he called me on the OR I asked them to throw in the rack and they OK'd it. I wanted it for kayaks.

Thanks! I do have a chance at a local SR5 Trail edition in Army Green with the Tech Package. But I’d be going to a DCSB vs ACLB. For me that’s moving 1ft of useful bed space to 1ft useless cab space. I just don’t know if the $3,765 trail package is worth it. Looks great, but I don’t off-road. Unless that locking rear differential helps in snow.

Locking diff wouldn't really do much for you in snow. Tires and 4wd would be over 80% of the solution there and most of that is in the tires.

Based on the "expire" date in my app, it does? I won't really know till the date approaches.

Curious if this was answered? Dealer hasn’t coughed up the actual vin yet and just gives updates on location. I’d love to check myself and correlate the truth/transparency in location as this moves along. Is there anyway to tell the final vin from temp?

I had a similar situation where they weren’t exactly giving me the VIN but they were updating me on delivery date. I ended up finding the VIN on the dealers website. Most of the time I think you can filter for incoming or something like that and you might be able to find the VIN that way. Once I found an exact match based on my build sheet I emailed the dealer and said hey found this on your website and it matches my build 100% is this the VIN? They finally conceded yes it was.

I’ve got a ‘23 Sport DCSB in lunar rock on order right now. Scheduled build date is mid September. I didn’t necessarily want the advanced tech package or some of the accessories that are coming with it but the dealership said you pretty much get what you get or you have to keep waiting for one that comes up how you want it. I’m stoked AF and patiently waiting lol

The wait to get what you want may not be as long as you think…I came to the dealer with a build sheet for a 22 Sport DCSB in lunar rock with advanced tech and premium sport packages. They said 120+ days. Well I put my deposit down on 29 JUL and the truck ended up being built 01 AUG and expected delivery is 07 SEP! Waiting to get what you want may not be as bad as you think!

That's essentially what I was told when I was looking for a mostly frill-free SR5. When I told them what I wanted, they found one in their allocation and were able to keep the extras off. Still pending freight, so it could still go south, but I remain optimistic

I had a dealer call me Thursday to try and sell me a Tacoma SR5 with a 10% Market adjustment. They called back the yesterday and were practically begging to sell it to me at msrp. Seems like the Market has gotten a lot softer since I put my deposit down on my TRDOR. Hope I don't regret buying at MSRP.

Hopefully yours will start moving. I have a 7/5 build from baja. I started getting door unlock notifications 10 days ago and mine is now on a train with expected delivery 8/21 to 8/26 in pennsylvania.

My dealer told me they are having a serious backlog of freight haulers/trains particularly for eastbound destinations, like the port in Houston for Gulf States (as one example). I was told that they expected (but obviously couldn't promise) mine to come in before the target date, especially because Toyota always has a big push to dealers to get vehicles moved by the end of August, so perhaps they put more resources on it. Dunno.
