    'Evening peeps. I sold my RTT today after it being in the classified section for a long time. A guy bought it so that he could mount it on a small utility trailer. It was a nice tent, I just didn't care for it. I enjoy the sleeping platform in the back of the 4runner better.

    miss my RTT sometimes. just hated the daily set up / tear down since i'm pretty nomadic when camping. the camper is a lot easier to prep to move. just check a few cabinets and go.

    My main annoyance with it was loading/unloading the tent from the Taco. It was too cumbersome for me to deal with. If I had a garage that I could have used a pulley system, things might have been different. I used it twice in the 3 years that I owned it, but at least it turned out to be a good investment. I got it at an REI garage sale for $325, I sold it for $700.

    I used mine a ton but I got a good deal on it in the first place and sold it for the same $$$ I bought it for....8 years later. :laugh: But I take care of my stuff so it was still good.
    Getting the tent on/off the truck was no problem. The Runner was another story...once it was on it stayed on until the day I sold Runner. With the truck I would just drop the tailgate, wrap a rope around the tent, crawl under the tent and push it down the rack until it topped onto the tailgate, crawl out and push the tent off the tailgate onto the furniture dolly. The rope was just insurance that it wouldn't go further than i wanted it to.
