Second off, if you think I wouldn't take 84 and stop at Reins, you are mistaken. But it would be a little over 2h each way for stuff I can do in my drive without even a jack. So, I am a TBD.

Man that sucks! Your bed is as the rest of the truck is, base coat and clear coat. The only way to fix that is to repaint it.

I would make sure it's clean then lightly sand and clean again and then prime them. At least from there you know it won't just rust away.
