Never Ends

 

Yep. Better than the bang that comes after hitting a gas line. Some contractors are dense. I caught one trying to put a telephone pole over our pipeline. (Gas Transmission line)

 

Plain Stupid. In today’s get it done world few think of the consequences.

 

Caught a few in the last few years. I always tell them that they’re just a number for their employer if their boss doesn’t take the time to protect them.

It’s scary, we’re high pressure. That’ll be one hell of a hole in the ground and nothing left with which to identify these guys.

 

First stop when I go there is the clearance

 

Last one I saw blow up I needed the security footage to try to find the Manhole cover.

 

Yikes. What kind of pressure? Was it an LDC line?

 

That thing doesn't look old enough to have a Wisconsin in it.

 

Underground 14,8 transformer but I saw my fill of gas ones. Mostly pipeline compressor station fiasco’s. Usually takes a week for those to get shut off & cooled off. Last one I was at it fused the sand into glass. Crunched when you walked.

 

Gotcha. We run a 30” that necks down to 24” 1440psi transmission line. I work out of a compressor station with an 18,500hp Siemens compressor. Gotta be on your toes.

That’s wild, I can’t imagine the amount of heat! (Well, I can, but I’d really rather not!)

We can have our compressor station shut down and blocked off from the mainline in a matter of minutes. Everything is tested quarterly and also 100% annually. Cool industry to be in.

 

dyed mix also carry’s a premium as you pay for color by the bag/ per yard and a extra clean out for every truck. Even if the same truck is on repeat, they will clean it every time to help ensure the color stays the same. I pay $50 per truck on top of the color.

 

They’re going to try and fill it, first available appointment…..August 22nd

It’ll cost me $100 deductible to replace it
