So the actual engineering, technical reason, Stick welding is the ONLY way to get a tensile strength strong enough to build skyscrapers. Stick welding can withstand a higher PSI rating than anything MIG can ever do. They have special wire and conditions that can "allow" MIG beads to have an equal PSI rating to rhe low end if what Stick is capable of, but even cheap lowly rods can withstand higher shear pressures without even trying. The other stuff is just as true tho, it's easier for dirty welding, lower tech with high strength, can run car batteries with coat hanger rods and get off a broken trail... why beat a broken horse, ya know?

i attribute it like this.. Stick welding is like driving a bulldozer, wanna do real work and don't care if it's pretty? Stick weld it is. MIG welding is like an undercover crown vic cop car.... Anyone can drive it and do work, but it lacks that finesse. TIG is like flying a helicopter (if you don't know what that's like, Youtube helicopter cockpit view) one slip up and you're a firey crash statistic, but if you know how to pat your head and rub your belly, you can hover that copter close enough and safe enough a lineman can test 100kV without dieing.

Are they built for outboard motors? I'll have more opportunities if I just have electric power since reservoirs are often no gas motors allowed.

I must be broken as fuck then, I had a gal move in with me once where a big contribution to our relationship was me taking care of her vehicle :anonymous: when I met her she was buying 3 day passes for temp window registration tags, due to a title mishap from an estate sale purchase.

Interesting analogy with the welding to vehicles. Really puts it into perspective.

As for bass boats, you’ll mostly only find them as outboards. They’re flat bottomed so you can go in shallow water and you can’t really do that with a stern drive or inboard.

Good morning! I got the ECT sensor and it looks like part of the fuel rail has to come off to access it. Is it advisable to take out the EFI fuse and turn the engine over to relieve the fuel pressure beforehand? Thanks!

Lol I posted this awhile back.

Just relieve pressure via gas cap.

Even if you don't (which I didn't relieve it at all) you'll get a tiny bit of fuel you can catch with 1 rag.

    Yeah it's super quick.

Just put a rag under the bridge, and that's it.

Make sure you don't lose the thin copper washer or two that'll be there.

    Nope.

The bolts align a certain way too so keep that in mind.

Been seeing articles lately about catastrophic mega floods coming to CA in the next 40 years, supposed to turn the central valley and lowland areas into a "temporary sea" and potentially be the worst natural disaster in US history.

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...astate-california-new-study-says/10308979002/

Apparently a similar event happened back in 1861-1862 but because CAs population was only 500k then it wasn't nearly as bad as it will be with 39+ million people now

I guess instead of breaking off into the ocean were just gonna become the ocean

Did you get yourself several vacuum lines? Pcv? And other misc things you can change out?

I know your knock sensor needs replacing so maybe having all those parts I mentioned above on stand-by.

I'd go at it and replace the thermostat, replace the coolant, and even replace the fan clutch to the 'tow spec' model. You know, just to refresh things "while you're in there"
