Morning Taco lovers!! I'm running a all stock 3rd gen sport with mudflaps. My summer set up rim will be trd pro sema 17x7 4mm offset. Will be keeping the mudflaps on figuring there will be more road debris being kicked up with the tires being out a inch further. Worried about the rubbing of course. Will be mainly on the pavement, trying to choose a Hwy AT or HT tire thats good on fuel and noise and doesn't look like it should be on a Military Vehicle lol. Worried that the 265/70 /17 might rub. I'm wondering if anyone is running a 255/70/17 setup? Would be great to hear and see pics from the TW educated :) Cheers Al

I'm looking at the 255/75/17 Cooper AT3 4S on stock suspension. I've read online that this size should be in the clear from rubbing. Can anyone confirm if this is true.

We can confirm the 255/75R17 should fit without rubbing. The 265/70R17 will clear most 3rd gen tacomas without rubbing the 255/75 is a little narrower and a hair taller. This would be on stock wheels, lower offset wheels can push the tire into the cab mount or suspension.

I run the same TRD 4Runner Pro wheels, 17x7, +4. Tires are 265/70 and have been for years. I've ran it both on stock suspension and just recently on a 1 inch Bilstein lift. It hasn't rubbed once yet.

    Thanks !

I will be running the 3rd Gen TRD Sport wheels with this set up 17x7.5 +30, No mud flaps and will have the air-dam on.

Would the off set on the OEM Wheels be something I should be concerned for if I choose to go with 255/75/17 or 265/70/17s

Usually, and in many cases, if the vehicle is at stock or minimal lift the stock wheels are a great option for fitment as this keeps the wheel centered under the fenderwell, the lower offset aftermarket wheels push the wheel out farther and move the tire in range of various components. Either of those size choices should work with little to no rubbing.

What matters there is total weight and total diameter of the wheel/tire combo. The tire calculator will help with the diameter part.

Very dependent on your selections and how your driving style is.
