So I just got my 2008 Tacoma 2.7l back on the road yesterday after quite a few code issues like system to lean and some air fuel sensor issues. Replaced pcv valve and fixed some intake issues along with new air fuel sensor and got all the engine light codes cleared up but now the truck is very sluggish and I pretty much can't even drive it the speed limit. Also it will not let me rev it up passed 3k rpm's like it's kicking the governor in there or something and when it runs weak and sluggish like that if I try and give it more gas I can hear some rattling going on somewhere in the engine. No engine light or codes are showing up though. Any ideas anyone? Sell the truck? Lol

Running like that, there should be some codes, recheck.

Go into detail what codes you previously had, what parts you replaced, what were the intake issues. Then others smarter than me can help.

It probably shat the cat... Or in PC terms, the exhaust is plugged up because the cat is plugged.

Thanks but I found and fixed the problem. So this truck is from Cali and has the duel cat system. I suspected them to be clogged since the truck has 180,000 but no codes so I just took them list and gutted them anyway and bam runs great now it's never ran this fast and smooth!

Yep just got it.... Hmmm I wonder what this might end up affecting though if anything. What do you think? Buy a new cat? Would it hurt anything, I mean I've done it multiple times on older cars and trucks back in the day.

Not gona hurt anything but you will have a permanent CEL and may have issues getting inspections depending on the laws in your area.
