4runner trd pro rims

Sorry if this has been asked. I tried searching and didn't see it. So I'm ordering in the 4runner 17" trd pro rims. Do I need new lug nuts as well or will the current ones work? I asked my dealer about ordering though them and they said I needed new lug nuts but they could also only order the old style rims. I'm ordering the new style elsewhere and just wondering if I need lug nuts as well.

 

If you are starting with Tacoma TRD Pro rims, you should be fine. That said, if the stock nuts are chrome, that chrome is a cap over the top of a steel nut. The cap tends to swell. I had a few that wanted to stick in the socket, so I replaced mine with black Gorilla nuts.

They are OEM Toyota. That is one of the big reasons I went with those wheels as well, just in matte black, was the OEM quality

 

which of the trd pro 17” 4 runner is compatible with my 2016 third generation tacoma? I went to the page and looked for it and it tells me that it is not compatible..thanks

How are these to keep clean? I have the 21' model TRD pro 4runner wheels on my wife's 4runner and they are terrible to keep clean, like they hold the brake dust in the finish and I wash regularly.

I'm shopping for wheels for my Tacoma so I can move up to 17" for better tire selection and love the look of these but don't want the same hassle I have to deal with on the pro wheels I have on my 4runner.

 

always ceramic coat your wheels before installing. Much easier to clean in between washes.

can also use poorboys wheel wax

 

They aren't the easiest to keep clean but can be done. I use adams polishes wheel cleaner and it works very well. While they look better clean, from a ways away the brake dust doesn't show up like a silver wheel. As mentioned above, ceramic coat would be a great idea. In that picture the wheels hadn't been cleaned in about a month.
