Some of those old clocks go for decent money on ebay. Maybe snag a few as you dismantle them. The central controller especially.

I have 11 buildings worth of Rauland analog clock and bell controllers, speakers, clocks, and the occasional microphone. Some are actually really cool electrostatic speakers in the 70s buildings

Drill press getting some love today. New chuck, and the pulley was wallowed out. Should be quieter now.

At least once I find a bearing for it

If the clocks ever do need new homes... I'd love to have an old industrial-type clock in the garage.

I'll send one your way, I dunno what they take though, I think it's like 70v power and has a 1sec sync signal of some sort so they could centrally set them

I'm not clever enough to set that up. I'd just put in a generic movement.

I don't know about Rauland clocks, but I nerded out a bit on Swiss Railway Clocks a while back. They were originally built to show hours and minutes only. The central clock sent a pulse every minute.

The clocks were retrofitted with a second hand to give passengers a better sense of when they were about to miss their train. The second hand was designed to complete a rotation in slightly less than 60 seconds, then pause and wait for the one-minute pulse before continuing on its next rotation.

We have some old fashioned American time plug in clocks (that are rather loud) that I can probably dig up if you want a plain 120v clock

Sweet! I'll just drown out the noise with hammers and power tools.

A 120v clock is ideal out there since it's not climate-controlled (or even insulated) and I don't think a battery would do well over the winter.

Lol. This is just a farm supply store. Next aisle over is beekeeping.

We do have a pretty nice mil surplus store with all kinds of random crap. Doesn’t feel LARPy like some of the others.

Yeah, I don't venture into them if A. the place looks new/fancy outside or B. it's in a major city

They have maybe 2-3 water bowls, some boots, and the rest of it is the shit Black Rifle Coffee 3rd Genners buy like 5.11 clothes or chest rigs they'll never need.

I like going to those shops normally owned by a 'Nam vet and has cool, old school military geared.

Every time I see an ALICE pack, I remember my days of humping those long ass trails in Camp Pendleton.
