Drop diff. kit ?

Lots of options out there, is there really any difference between a $25 and $75 kit?

 

Will depend on materials used and name brand. You shouldn't need one if the front lift was 2.5” or less. I went about 2.7” and my diff drop kit is still in the box. I lifted at about 50K and I have never had any issues. Im still on my oem CV shafts and needle bearings. I have replaced my wheel bearings twice, but that is due to normal off-roading wear/tear.

 

Don't do it, or remove it. Not needed. Keep researching it. Good luck with your truck.

 

I threw a 3/4" drop on mine just because I already had the stuff to do it on hand but it's generally accepted that while it seems to help on 1st gens it's unnecessary on 2nd gens and really it only gives you like 1/3 that drop at the actual axle center.
