    Re: poll,
    Kresto FTW! They used it at the university so that’s where I used it. It’s more expensive than gojo but it doesn’t have that slimy feel, and uses natural stuff (I think walnut shells?) as the aggregate and doesn’t use solvents. Think, works as good as gojo with no grease or smell.

    I worked in the printing industry for years and I learned right quick to wear gloves.. that ink doesn't come off easily. When I became an EMT wearing gloves just came along with that. I figure an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of hand cleaner!

    To a degree I agree with you, we only get out of this life what we put in. On the employment side, I can only offer my recent experience which is as follows;
    We’re hiring for 2 positions in my shop. It’s good pay, good benefits, and a personal reference from someone who works there goes a long way on a resume. I have someone I used to work with who would be a great fit, so I told him to use me as a reference. I talked to my boss about this person, and he says, “Oh yeah I saw his application, but he has a certificate for electrical (along with a journeyman license) and the rule is we need an associates degree. We’ve been talking about changing the rule because the certificate is sufficient for what we do, but we don’t have a shortage of applicants and I’ve been busy so I don’t have any need to change it.”

    So basically he said my guy is SOL cause he doesn’t feel like sending an email to change hiring requirements that he admits need to be changed.

    a different story, my wife works with a grad student from Indiana. She goes back home during the summer, and tried to get a job at a place she calls “murder burger” cause so many people get stabbed-robbed there. My wife asks why the hell you wanna work at a place you guys call murder burger? The grad student says , “I figure they’re so hard up they wouldn’t say no.” Guess what, they wouldn’t hire her because she’d be temporary during the summer. So sometimes people who do want to work are turned down due to managerial insecurities, or other things beyond their control. Not always, but it happens.

    This is the biggest cantaloupe I’ve ever seen. A farmer friend brought it to us Saturday. It’s delicious :drool:

    I agree completely.

    I do feel that if someone wants to work today there is work available -- not always the job one wants of course but there are jobs to be had.

    It wasn't that way when I was young, many industries downsized or closed dumping thousands of people in the job market, even jobs like washing dishes, pumping gas or bagging groceries were tough to get.

    (Yes, pumping gas and bagging groceries used to be everyday jobs... :rofl:)

    My wife used to bay groceries at the local Hannaford, I get reminded every time we go in and she says “ these kids don’t know what they’re doing!”

    Borax has long been the best. LAVA and the variants simply tear up the hands. The Mrs. doesn't care for the smell either.

    I carry this one in my pants leg pocket 6 days a week, it’s rechargeable and also been through the washing machine a few times. Use it everyday for something.
