I was struggling when I visited Denver last year but somehow I was able to do a hike in Estes National park in the snow without issue….

 

Yeah, usually a day or two in, you start to at least get past the worst of it.

I'd say it took me a month or so to feel "normal" again after moving here from sea level.

Congrats on the Summit! Pretty cool and big ride! As for the Steamboat ride, don’t know anyone but read up on the results. The guy that one it, also one Leadville the day before! Talk about crazy! Hahaha.

Would love to get to Steamboat for this ride some day!

It's on my short list of races to do for 2023. I had to cancel a trip to Colorado this season so a gravel race would be a good reason to go.

 

So been riding with these insoles and the right foot is perfect, left foot is still dealing with some numbness.

Does running the metal cleat guard help spread load any?
That's my next step besides going with some larger platform pedals and just removing the pins.

I'm looking at the

$120 INNO RT202 Truck Bed Bike Rack - Bike Mount for Pickup Truck with C-Channel Track Systems

INNO RT202 mounts for my 2010 DCLB. Any other options I should be looking at for transporting gravel bikes in my truck bed? I was thinking about the front rail + fork mount block, but it would be a lot cooler if I didn't have to remove the front wheel of my bike.

 

Ended up going with the pike ultimate charger 2.1 in 130mm and 42mm offset for the ripley af. It's 30% off on backcountry...with that and active junky I'll be saving some decent money haha. Thanks to @whitedlite for sharing active junky!

Ended up with a bunch of wolf tooth parts, they make some nice stuff so figured I'd try it out.

 

Currently riding a 2018 Yeti SB5+, 27.5+ tires, Fox 36 @ 160, DPX2 out back at 130. Bought it before I really knew where I would be riding and how often. I don't nearly make it up to the mountains often enough to justify all this bike and tire. I don't know what it weighs, but probably 33-34lbs.

I've been waiting for Yeti to drop some hints about the 2023 models and finally heard some rumors of a 120mm bike (takes the place of the 115 - with modern geometry). I'm a big rider, 220lbs. 200lbs if I can get on the bike more frequently. Fox 36 at 140mm up front paired with the 120mm out back sounds like a super fun bike for where I ride.

Just dreaming here, but sounds closer to possibility than not. Work gives me a weird flex fund spending account of $1500 per year, sooo I could technically use 2022's $1500 for a deposit at the end of the year, another $1500 once 2023 gets here, and then sell my Sb5+ for 3k or so. New bike would barely come out of pocket.

 

I've heard they're cool folks too. I've got a riding friend lives beside their plant in Minnesota I may try and visit next Spring or something

Yea it's not connected to our HSA or medical benefits, it can't be used for medical expenses or child care, but can be used for almost anything else. People have been using it for pelotons, fitness watches, cell phones, camping equipment, the list goes on and on. But if I time it right I can get $3k before the bike arrives at the LBS.
