Yeah maybe not that smart. No matter how many mods, its still worth only an sr if you sell, or trade it. Most go by the book value of the original factory build, and careless to pay for extra options.

    not necessarily accurate.
There are some mods or accessories that can be added that do add value or some of those may be of value between the buyer and seller. some examples are if the touchscreen radio was upgraded or improved steps or the SR's stock 16 wheel upgraded to 17 inch the condition of the truck at the time of sale makes a difference: mileage, accidents
its more of a debate if a person wants to be more frugal with the SR or a person wants to have the extra features of a SR5

We basically did the same thing for the same reasons... I did Access Cab route. I debated for only a short time when I saw all of what the SR had and what I was going to change/do to it. SR for the win.

Who can elaborate on what the stock radio (SR5) will do with USB thumb drives and .mp3 files?

I'm coming from a Nissan Altima that couldn't handle more than a couple hundred songs, and am at 20k plus on a single stick.

Thanks in advance, this really is a great group for advice and knowledge!

Those extra features were direct plug-n-play for a couple of installs I did on my SR5/TRD Sport:

    Bed Lights
    OEM LED Headlights

I've seen threads for advice on installing above items to SR/SR5s. There were some tweaks that had to be done to make it work on the SR/SR5s but otherwise it was a less-hassle install (for me) that worked!

I do like the following interior features:

Bluetooth, 8 inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, hands-free phone & music streaming, front dual climate control, 3 total USB ports, 10-way adjustable seat, pwr windows, VSC, TRAC, ABS, BA, SST, Class IV Tow Pkg, TSS, PCS w/PD, LDA, AHB, DRCC, RSCA, TPMS, Smart Key System (Not available on M/T).

EDIT: It may just be the SRs that had issues...I just included the SR5 in this reply. Let me know if that is not the case.
