Been saving up for some UCAs, but I've been having second thoughts. Would you go for the UCAs, Archive Garage Hammer Hangers, or Katskin leather on the bench seat? I realize the Katskin would be more than any of the others but not really that much more as I have a regular cab. What's your opinions?

The same shit everyone else has.
    Adjustable UCAs

Better alignment & more clearance > anything else you listed.

Hmmm. If you drive it a lot I’d say the Katskin.

I guess that whole “proper alignment” thing is a valid point too :boink:

I've never had leather in any of my vehicles. My wife does have leather and had I never sat in her car it'd be a much easier decision. o_O

I’d go with hard parts over seat covers.
Seat covers won’t fail and leave you stranded.

Unless you don’t need the parts. Then I’d say seat covers?

@HAVOC I have about 2" in the front, maybe a bit more, and have plans to replace the 5100s with 6112s in the future, but probably not for 15 to 20k more miles. My alignment is pretty good, but I do get some slight wear on the outside edges of tires.

As for use, I go primitive camping every two to three weeks during the summer. I run the RXT springs on option 2 as I have sliders, RTT, 4 aluminum skids, and a bunch of stuff behind the seat.

I'm not a rock crawler per say, but my skids and sliders have battle scars. Here's a couple examples of usual trips I take.

If you're cool with your alignment and tire fitment/clearance now I'd get the Archive Garage Hammer Hangers, totally changed the ride and towing behavior of my truck for the better.

    Way way better.

Is your truck aligned or does it need more adjustment?

IMO, I would get UCA, you’re just going to go through tires faster and coat you in the long run.

I've read a lot about the HHs and really feel they'd really make a difference for me. The only worry I have is the install. I'm pretty handy with a wrench but at my age changing out the rear springs kicked my butt, so I'd probably have to tack labor on to the price. That was what lead me to the seats, pricing wise.

Seats won't do much of anything for you, look nice sure but the leather will burn your ass and make you stick to the seat.

I had leather in my first gen, wouldn't do leather again in anything.

Very happy with my Wet Okole covers in my 2nd gen.

Looks like you do use your truck to play and camp, the roof top tent and gear and with your plans to keep on it your rig is only going to get heavier and heavier, my truck felt pretty vague and floaty on the highway with all it's weight and towing felt downright white knuckle at highway speeds.

Hammer Hangers pretty much fixed it and now it feels absolutely planted and solid no matter what I'm doing.

Install kinda sucked just because of the overhead drilling and grinding, pulling the bed would have been easier I think but I had no one willing or capable to help me with that when I did mine so tiny shaving burns everywhere it was.

But honestly other than that it was really straight forward and easy IMHO and by far one of the most worth while mods.

I'm sure you could find someone on the forums willing to help you out with the install, hell if you brought it to me I'd do it for you but I'm in Florida not sure if you want to make that trip.

Sweet looking truck man. IMO I would always suggest maintenance and reliability over comfort. But that's just my opinion.

Hammer Hangers, hands down. If anyone says anything else it's because they haven't put HH's on their truck yet. The install is a bit more involved than your typical wrenching job, yes. If you have access to a lift it will make it much easier. The hardest part for me was crawling around on the floor for a whole day trying to get into a comfortable position (spoiler: you can't). If you've got a grinder with cutout wheels, a drill, and an air hammer you shouldn't have too much trouble. Give yourself 2 full days. Just get the old hangers off the first day and then clean up and paint the frame. Then it's just installing the new parts the second day which is way easier.

You don't need UCA's. You can get good alignment numbers on the stock UCA's, especially with only 2" of lift. I ran mine at 2.75" for 9 years on factory UCA's. The only reason I have SPCs now is to try to get a little more clearance behind the wheel so I can leave my mudflaps on.

Do you need the UCA's? If you need them, then you need them and that should be top of the list. If you don't need them to get the right alignment and your clearance is good then they're kinda pointless unless you're able to get some added travel from them. Kinda depends on what your setup is.

Otherwise, definitely the Hammer Hangers. Those seem to provide actual, real world performance improvement.

Personally seat covers are a waste. I hate leather for reasons already mentioned. And, seat covers, even the nice ones, never really fit well. At least not well enough for me. If my seats were torn/stained I'd buy OEM or OEM style replacement skins rather than covers.

I vote seat covers as long as you don't need the UCA. You can also just find a basic, cheaper, seat covers while still affording a UCA or HH. If you need proper alignment still, then UCA of course.

If you decide on seat covers, go with Clazzio. They are excellent!!

Well, I ended up spending my mod money on something that's been in the back of my mind for a long time. Back to square one on the truck mods.
