Anybody have any experience notching thin pipe? I’m currently using the angle head and there’s got to be a quicker way.

Central Florida rut seems to be first week of December depending on how hot its been, sometimes even later. I've been so slacking on my feeders at my camp but the does are plentiful and I'm hunting thanksgiving week up in Nantahala so banking on knocking down a mountain buck up there.

They are precise fit and depth, grinder would be okay if I was doing one. I'm doing 100 today

They are too long to put in the cnc mill without the angle head, the angle head only fits the old bridgeport.

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with a notching machine. I've never seen or used one, they notch them across the pond before they paint them and send them here. The customer cuts them to a specific length their customer wants and we have to put the notches back in the cut end.

Using the angle head is great if it's only a few parts but when they bring 100 at a time it would be great to have a dedicated notching machine to knock them out quicker.

I am pretty much a solder and heat shrink person.

I could see if you don`t get into wiring that often and don`t solder.

Some one gave me a few to try not sure what brand I think they are still in the tool box.

Can't get an end mill that's slot-size? Cut in one pass?

I will agree I made good money in my early days saving the day for people with Horse trailers they were great with the animals not so much on the mechanical and electrical problems.

Though the area one lives in can make a big difference in my case working on the road people just forget I was around.

I wish my body worked better I would so hang out the shingle again.

Bed led, under hood led, secondary auxiliary panel,
Had ours drop at my area already, seemed to be a bit early here. Maybe a late rut in that area

Okay... optical dillusion. Looked like you were cutting about a 1" slot with a 3/16" mill... In that case... I got nothing. Tell the Bossman to buy a waterjet machine with a CNC rotary vise.

    It's a .332" slot X .187" deep in a 3" pipe X .062" wall. The boss is actually the one who ask about a notching machine :D
