Decent looking grill. I'll install later this week and give a report about the TSS. Also, functional test the Raptor Lights.

Looks like TacoGarage has a nice set-up and puts it together before shipment!

The Letters are double-sided taped...as are the OEM ones according to their comparison video.

My grill has the ridges where they're supposed to be and the letters are raised and have their own color from the base.

This will go great with my Midnight Black Sport -- Silver & Black!

Almost immediately. Truck gave me a warning on the radio and dash lights as I forgot to plug in the TSS sensor harness when installing the new grille today.

So is there any difference between the PRO sensor and the off road sensor, other than location? Same part number?

They are the same, but have their own part number, due to their calibration.

So in theory i should be able to buy the pro sensor to alleviate any issues when replacing the grille?

in theory, but I still had the TSS issues even with the new sensor that came with my TRD lift and heritage grille. I ended up having to take it to the dealer to calibrate the pre collision system. (I even tried using washers and the error would not go away.

Do you mind me asking what your dealer charged to recalibrate? I’m also interested in making this grill swap (I already bought one) but am nervous about screwing up the TSS while the truck is still under warranty.

    So....

You had the OEM TRD Lift which comes with OEM Heritage Grill.

The calibration is part of the install so if there's issues, I would imagine it's covered under install warranty. (30 days?)

The after market heritage grill/garnish sold by EmpyreOffRoad & Taco Garage (or any other vendor) would bring attention to a non-OEM product.

Many people were posting that it worked without the need of a calibration with the new sensor (and lift installed). I installed the lift in my garage.

Well, that explains it...you installed the Lift.

That vintage grill video from Taco Garage states that as long as there isn't a 3 inch lift, there should be no problems.

The OEM TRD Lift is 2.5 inches...I believe.

That may be why you had the errors.

I don't plan on doing a TRD Lift so when my lazy butt installs this grill, I'll let you know how things turn out for me.

2 inch lift with the OEM TRD lift. I also did install the grille and sensor when it was stock height and it had the same issue with TSS. Let me know how it goes with yours.

One point I remember from the Taco Garage video is: there's an angle of the garnish holding area. In the video, it's mentioned at the 5:15 point.

From what I recall, the placement area is already angled and does not need the washer on the top of the TSS.

You just have to make sure the garnish is pushed in and flush. Press down the locking washers with a 10mm socket to make sure it seats as flush as possible.

From this photo, the garnish is pushed in as far as the entry holes allows.

As suggested by the Taco Garage guys, make sure your TSS connections are snugly snapped into their terminals.

@ChrisIz Here's the angle at the top of the Garnish...I just noticed the thickness at the top.

I looked again...and the holes for the garnish don't seem big enough...the garnish posts are not sitting flush right up against the grill entry points.

If I pull the drill out to make slightly bigger holes/entry points, I'll need to be real careful not to crack the plastic.
