    i may get a wheel and tire combo but the rims have a +18mm offset and a 5.71" backspace will it fit or rub like hell?

    What size are the tires?

    Either way, 5.71" BS is way too much for a first gen.

    Look for 4-4.5" BS.

    the tires are 285/75/16's i cant remeber on the backspacing is it the higher the number the farther it sticks out?

    Those are 16?? They look like 20's to me.

    For a given rim width The lower the backspacing, the more the rims sticks out.

    Alright well that's a 32" tire, so you are probably good to go to run it on stock suspension, but not with wheels with such a high backspacing as those.

    You will rub for sure on the frame.
    For giggles I took the 285's off my wifes 4th gen 4runner on stock tundra wheels (5" backspace) and threw em on my Taco. Rubs like hell.

    Stock backspacing on 1st gen is 4.5".
    Sweet spot is 4-4.25" bs
