Same. Went to kill devil hills a lot as a kid.
Going to the drs to hopefully get clearance to walk the 23. Going to whalehead Beach that Sunday. And I'm going regardless of what drs say.

But I like corolla. Spent a lot of time there and rodanthe. Rodanthe being my fav as I like my privacy. Have sat on the beach many times In rodanthe and couldn't see anyone as far as could see. My kinda beach.

Gonna take the kids and ol lady up to carova and hope to find some of the horses for them

Damn! That’s wild. Hopefully you had an awesome first time experience and want to go back. Having grown up in a beach town, it isn’t anything too crazy for me. But once I moved 3.5 hours away from the beach, that’s when I really began to realize how fortunate I was to have lived so close to it.

That’s awesome. We’re in Rodanthe right now, actually. It’s pretty sweet. Definitely not a lot of people and the privacy is nice for sure. We went to Nags Head last year and I really enjoyed that. There’s a lot of stuff around there vs Rodanthe and further out.

I remember one time my Mom & Grandma took me to the Wright brothers memorial in KDH and I ran up and down the hill. I got those little prickly things stuck all in my ankles and feet. 0/10 would not recommend.

Truthfully, I was there for an emergency situation. My brother in law broke his neck and I drove down to help my sister and their girls. It was their vacation. Hes gonna be ok, but it did a number on all of them. I tried to still make it fun for the girls while their parents rested. That said...it was beautiful and very different from the beaches up north. I would gladly go back.

Oh Jesus, I am so sorry to hear that!!! I hope he’s alright and recovers quickly and safely. My apologies. Hoping you’ll get to return on much better terms the next time around.

Thank you. He's alright. Mercifully he wasn't paralyzed, but he does have a long recovery road.
I hope so too! It was a wonderful place. :fistbump:

Oh! and I picked up a bumper - went with the C4 Fab hybrid front bumper. I didn't WANT a bumper as there's almost no true value there - in terms of actual use vs dollars-spent vs. weight penalty vs hours-per-trip-actively-used (yes, I have a formula...nerd alert). But my lovely partner wanted to get an up-close look at the back of a Corolla...yadda, yadda, yadda the bumper cover and grill are zip-tied in place and will be for the next three months (build lead time).

For a new bumper, I wanted the lightest-weight that's not aluminum (cost), thus, went with a half-tube style - yet it can carry a winch which I'll wind up getting after I get new (heavier/stronger) front springs and shocks as the weight (130lbs, unloaded) of just the bumper might overcome my 885s, and I JUST leveled this truck a couple of months ago (raised the perches on the 5100s).

I ordered it empty because I am uninterested in paying their prices for the top-shelf lights they offer. Instead I'll go with Amazon/chinese lights (much better absolute value in my matrix), and will use white light because the yellow light we typically see is probably (for sure?) not the right color temp to (buzz words alert!) "Cut through the fog".

And sure! since you asked, I am interested in hosting - or producing/funding at someone's house where folks don't have to get on base - an install day. (un)Fortunately, it's due to arrive in november, so will be nice and cool weather...(next on my list is to source propane patio warmers) When does the real winter weather hit this area?

I call that a major disappointment. I'm hoping for winter that starts the day after TGiving and keeps two feet of snow on the ground until the week after new years. :) Yes, I should probably consider moving to Alaska.

All the rain in the past week has pretty much missed us here, and at work in Hagerbush. I really ain't gonna need to mow my grass this week, well except around the septic field, that's the only place it's growing now

Given your username, I assume you’re from Michigan. Western Michigan has what you’re looking for. Definitely the U.P.

My wife is from Michigan and she hasn’t put on a jacket in the winter in the 14 years she’s lived here.
