If anyone has an extra Rebel 10 they wanna trade for a Blantons dm me. We didn’t get any of it in Virginia that I’m aware of.
I always liked the regular rebel yell, and had a distillers collection that was good as well.

Man down. Really enjoyed this bottle, quite smooth.

Start weaning yourself off all that ice!!!!

Not sure how you can even taste it.

Try it neat and take your time. I find myself only adding ice to bottles I don’t enjoy.

Warm and full strength is a totally different flavor profile you might really enjoy.

I mean, drink it however you want, but you don’t see anyone doing a whisky review with a glass full of ice. It
    completely changes the pour.

I originally poured about three fingers to kill the bottle, didn’t think to take a picture until I had the dregs left. So I wouldn’t read too much into that photo.

I prefer bourbon cold and I don’t like the stones. I personally find that many bourbons have an improvement in flavor with some water. There are a few I’ve found I like better neat, but most I prefer with some ice. Normally I like a sphere of ice, it gets the glass the coldest while shedding the least water compared to a bunch of ice cubes. I don’t have any prepared tonight though.

Actually, there are a lot of things I prefer cold: chocolate, cake, pie, fruit. Must just be my thing.

Back to the impact of water on flavor: an example, one of my favorites, Heaven Hill BIB, tastes pretty dull neat. On the rocks it is absolutely beautiful. On the other hand, I’ve found that I prefer any Weller neat.

Luckily there is no “right” way to enjoy a pour, we each get to decide individually what we like.

Help wanted please. I live in Nevada and I'm going to vacation with the family in Willimington NC in a couple days. Looking for a readily available whisky that I wouldn't get on the westcoast that's tasty. Not looking to spend a bunch of money, I'm more looking for the under $40 bottle I haven't had before that's the always-in-your-cabinet bottle. Suggestions?

You could try John AP Conoley by Bogue Sound Distillery or EM Walton. Both products from distilleries within two hours of Wilmington, probably wouldn’t see these in CA.

There’s nothing that’s going to change your life that you can get out here but can’t get in CA. But they’re both worth trying. If you were to pick up just one I’d get the Conoley.

These are difficult to find in my area of NC, maybe the county Wilmington is in has better access. Look for the John J. Bowman single barrel.

And if you can’t find one let me know, I can hook you up.

The Eagle Rare last week was the only time I’ve seen it in my area. I’ve come across the Weller SR and BT 1.75’s a few times in the past but they were always like $100 or more. This was significantly less lol. Pm me next time you come through and I’ll try and point you in the right direction.

The only time I’ve seen a 1.75 Weller SR, it was $300. I understand retail to be in the $55 range. Absurd. I hope you got it for under $100.

Got a 5th Blanton's today. Went ahead and cracked one with the buddies so they could learn what the hype isn't about lol

Geezus, that’s stupid. And people pay it lol. Every time I’ve seen them in the past they were $100-150, this was $70 which is line for the fact the 750ml around here is $30-40

I paid $50 for that 1.75 bottle just back in April and thought it was too much. Haven't even opened it yet since I'm not really a big fan of the SR.

I’d sell or trade it then. I like SR over ice in the summer, but that’s about it. So this will get me through since it’s hot here until October lol

    Also, a 750 of A107 was $200. Just crazy.
