It’s worth watching the video again just for the stupidity of all involved. Why do they turn around in the water? Back straight in and out like a normal person launches a boat. Why are there three people running around the truck and trailer while backing up? One with a shovel. Its amazing none of them tripped and got run over.

I like the high stepping. It’s funny. They look like they’ve been running in knee deep water a lot.

Why are they even in the water? You get in the boat on dry land and then drive it off the trailer. No need to get wet. Idiots

it just makes for better content, by driving in the water

pretty sure everyone clicked thinking the rivian would be swamped out and stuck in water up to the boobies needing a rescue

It's funded in part by the bipartisan infrastructure bill passed early this year. Further upcoming bills will continue to fund more infrastructure across the US, except for Texas.

Can’t wait to see them towed into that NYPD Navy Yard depot. The one where there is a non-sworn tow truck driver that backs up and drives forward *to act as the gate*. Like, all day. That’s their job. Back and forth. You don’t hate jobs, right? And there is another worker in a little booth next to it. And yet another takes your papers behind the plexiglass. And yet another to drive you in using the car that sits idling all day. Effin’ BKLYN, lol. It deserves ugly grey Rivians.

    Or so I’ve heard.

It's a public utility, they're limited by what they can charge and are highly regulated. Look at Texas for the issues with deregulating critical infrastructure.

It’s public, but privately traded. And someone profits, a lot. As they own the grid. At least the big ass lines, those lines get taken care of. But there are miles of power lines slapping against trees all over this state, shit in my county. I guess they probably don’t matter quite as much and don’t pose the same fire risk as a high transmission line.

I do think the privately traded part is shit. In most cases when they screw up and are held liable the rate payers get hit harder in making up for it and not the shareholder.

Fuck it, wife and I put the $1k deposit on a R1S (with the non refund $100 for tax credit, which should bring the MSRP down to $65K). Gonna get the cheapest model to replace her Suby Outback.

It’s either R1S or new Sequoia, which are about the same price for a base SR5 4x4.

When will it be ready? What’s the deal with no real spare tire on the SUV? There’s some weird small deflated spare that you inflate if needed or something.
