I was waiting on a 7/5 build that was just sitting. I used the spreadsheet to look for anything near me. A dealer about 1.5 hours away showed 2. I called and they were not there, but they said they had a MGM Limited (same specs and color I had on hold). The catch was a $6K markup. I told them I’d pick it up right away at MSRP. After about 2 hours of back and forth, they told me to come get it at MSRP. When I got there last Friday, they actually had MGM and Black. Both were reserved allocations that the buyers couldn’t get financing for. I got the MGM with Tonneau cover, tailgate switch and a few other things. Exactly what I wanted. Finance guy said they hadn’t sold one at MSRP since the pandemic began!

Got my “non-refundable” $500 deposit back from the original dealer with no questions asked. Salesman called me today to see if I wanted a Lime Green Pro. It was used in the Richmond Race last week and returned to them. Too late. I would’ve considered it, but I’m perfectly happy with what I got.

So dealers will negotiate on price and deposits. Don’t let them get away with ripping you off!

    Hi @Rod03 , can you check 3TYSZ5AN7NT095302?

Dealer says it’s due at dealership this weekend which is odd because it was less than a week ago that they said it showed up on their allocation.

    Thanks!

@Turkino and @WheelHikeRepeat those are some awesome landscape backgrounds! I'm feeling bad that my truck has been stuck in suburbia since delivery -- need to take her out to more open spaces to roam free.

Luckily, it doesn't take me long to get into the wilderness. That spot is only 16 minutes/8 miles from my house. I can be at a hiking trailhead for this area in less than 10 minutes.

Heck yeah, 1000 times better, lol. White mountains are like 4 hrs which isnt too bad. Best thing though as you mentioned, can be in the dirt from anywhere in town in about 30 min. Loved it there for sure and definitely miss the amazing evening sky. Enjoy the truck and the Sonoran desert. Cant beat that combo

Until yesterday, when I called a dealership in another state they have either said they simply will not sell to me at all, or they will sell to me at their normal price. A new twist yesterday as two of them told me they are now adding a $2K market adjustment to out-of-state customers only. Another said they will not let out-of-state reserve an in-transit vehicle, they will only sell those sitting on the lot. I get it, keep the local (potentially repeat) customers happy and increase the chance the vehicle is serviced at your dealership. Not mad, just sharing what I'm hearing.
