The sled wasn't even loaded, but it's still a stock truck. Tracor pull isn't no fun if they ain't burning alcohol, blowing up super chargers, and throwing engines off the frame.

Never though of pulling a sled with a Rivian, or any electric truck.

 

The weight block was all loaded up front of the sled already too. Very impressive.

 

Looked about as exciting as playing video game, compared to pulling with an ice vehicle. It would be interesting to see how much battery was used, and what impact an exercise like that would have on battery life, and how much range the battery can now store. Ice vehicles often break, and need engine and drive line rebuilds.

I don't think that's going to show on the Carfax report.

 

Electric can haul just fine, but the 100 mile range when you're towing a trailer @70mph might be a little bit limiting.

Idk, mine's a PHEV and on the road I have these things which dispense liquid, high density fuels which can either drive the wheels or add more electricity, as needed.

 

That's a Hybrid.

Fully rechargeable BEV Tesla, Rivian, F-150 Lighting, GMC Hummer saw one of those on a carrier yesterday. The only vehicle on 3 car gosse neck trailer BTW, tow rig was probably at max capacity. All have to be charged, and if you are driving around like people often do in a vehicle. They have to stop and recharge, if they are driving a Tesla, and get to the super charger only to find that it is not working. They might not have enough charge to drive to the next closest super charger.

Now the BEV needs to be towed, to the nearest charging station, and the vehicles occupants need to catch an uber to where to vehicle is being towed, because the tow company's insurance provider does not cover passengers, and they can't ride in a vehicle that's being towed.

 

:shrug: I've got 40 miles of cheap electric range before the engine turns on, in any case. Works well enough for me.

A PHEV Taco would be baller.

 

This is where Toyota is losing focus. They rather be balling, or making tik tok dance videos. Instead of concentrating on quality, dependability, and reliability. The recent recalls of Tacoma child seat anchors, and bz4X wheels falling off. Are prime examples.

 

He makes up everything he says. He has no clue of reality.

Upgrades to the grid are going to be reflected in your energy bill.

BEV are going to substantially increase in price, when medium and heavy duty truck manufacturers ramp up BE Commercial truck production. Why? Battery components will be in short supply.
