Welcome to TW!. Check out the 3rd gen section and you will find plenty of examples of 285's. Unfortunately, it takes a bit more than clever ideas to fit that large of a tire. You would need a small lift, plastic trimming, maybe a cmc and pinch weld hammering. I would look into 265/70/17. It will be a larger tire than stock and you can fit it without modification. Plenty of tires available in that size as well.

You are gonna need a lift. I put a 2 inch coil over lift on with an add-a-leaf in the rear and massaged the plastic in the wheel wells back to take away a lot of the rubbing. Still get a little rub turning in reverse.020.jpg

What sort of product for lift did you go with?

It’s the exact way I picture my truck to look in the future! Looks awesome.

also, how do you find the highway drive now?

Thank you. I went with the Eibach coil overs. The ride is just like stock and very smooth with the Nitto RidgeGrapplers. Its a hybrid all terrain and mud tire. Nitto makes a great tire! Very happy with them

Those tires are in the cart just waiting to see if I want to pull the trigger for sure - nitto grapplers, they have a few good options.

trying to figure out the right answer for the tire size lol

where does my time really want to be spent at the moment

Sorry (not really) to thread jack but what the Hell it’s not often I hear the name Alma. My Cousin Thomas Frederic “Voss” Williams married the Grand Daughter (or Great Grand daughter) of a man named William F. Cody (Buffalo Bill Cody). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_F._Williams

There are a lot of great tire options out there....But you definitely will not regret pulling the trigger on these!

Not the best picture but just put a 3"/2" Leveling kit and 285/70 R17 Patagonia Milestar tires (I drive a lot) on KMC Wheels. Rides well (on the factory suspension still) and I don't go hard, just sandy. A little power loss but not too bad with those tires. A little rub on the air dam in the front but that's easy to trim. De-badging and a grill are next.
