I considered RSI as well. I liked the look of the smartcap better.

I give it :thumbsup::thumbsup: Very we’ll designed and built. I have had no issues with it while in use.

We’ve done a few trips with it and does great with dust, rain etc.

I still think they look great!

    Missed the quote- :anonymous:response above.

Also - I agree that 1up makes the best racks - period.

I'm starting to dig the 1-up in general; so far i like the unit, but the user interface is god awful. Why they would put that handle to pivot the platform way underneath is beyond me. I know they sell a handle extension, so I might have to buy that.

Also, looks like Kuat just came out with a copy cat version of 1-up but with much better usability: https://www.kuat.com/product/piston-pro-x/

    Crazy expensive though...somewhere around $1,400!

Still waiting lists but this rack is better then 1UP. I have a 1UP and love it, so I will not be switching. But if I was looking now I might consider spending more for this QuirkRStuff rack.

Man, take a nap for a few years and the racks just keep getting better. 1up set the standard, it seems, and now people are doing improved iterative designs.

Geez, it is a beautiful looking and seemingly functional rack. The kashima pistons make me curious if they relieve any vibration motion over time while driving. But also thinking it might fail or need maintenance over a period of time?
When your bike rack has better fork than you're mtb bike..

Great observation! I'm usually a late adopter anyway to allow for all the bugs to get fixed. Maybe I'll check back on this rack in a couple of years and see if your concern comes to fruition.

Does anyone know what the distance is from the tailgate to the rack in the down position? I am running a steel bumper my receiver is high clearance and located behind my license plate. I know I won’t be able to drop the tailgate in the level position, but was hoping I could lower the rack so when I’m camping with my bikes I don’t have to unload the rack to get to my fridge and camping gear.

I don have a rear bumper but opted not to due to the interference with the one up rack. The functionality of the tailgate and the oneup rack in the stock hitch location is what has stopped me from doing the rear bumper. I think it is going to touch even if you lower the rack to the lowest position before you drop the tailgate.

Yup, another vote for the double 1UP - works perfectly. Always. Love those things.

My kuat sherpa 2.0 clears with my tailgate down, dont have a cap to show that clearance. When I travel or ride solo I use the rear mount and I have plenty of access in and out of bed area with tailgate down. I tried the sherpa and the NV 2.0 but the NV hits the tailgate as previously discussed. Im not too pumped of the support of my sherpa yet but I have beat around pretty hard and have not lost either of my bikes. Eyeballing the 1up double at a group ride the other day and would like to play around with it more if the option presents itself.
