Good morning everybody. Have a great Friday!

While I am an “older” fart, I was too young to remember when Camille hit. I do remember going over to the Gulfport, MS area with my family months after the storm, there was destruction everywhere. I distinctly remember a tug boat that had been washed several hundred yards inland to the north side of US 90 which runs along the coast. It was later stabilized and turned into a tourist attraction for the area. When I started drilling over there in the reserves in the late 90s it was still there. When Katrina hit the building that was beside it was destroyed and the boat was actually shifted on its foundations. They finally removed it in 2008 because it was damaged and deteriorating, that was a sad day.

Heres an old picture of it back in its heyday.

Good Friday folks. Breaking camp today and headed to Smithville Lake north of Kansas City. Be there a few days and on to Springfield to see some family.
    Y'all be safe out there.

I wonder what the warning was like in 69. I remember when Hugo hit our area and we had warning but we all falsely believed we were fare enough inland it wouldn’t do anything where we lived. Now we know better!!

Ive read many books on it.there were no warnings. just that the storm would pass through our area bringing rain and phone lines were downed so basically they were on their own. with no idea it would stall.

    Well,

8 work days and a wake up for the Wifey at work, 37 Years with the Clerk's office.... She slept about two hours last night, NOW she's freakin out, "what am I gonna do??" She's been working since she was 17, my suggestion of "get another job" didn't go over that well, imagine that..

She decided today, of all days, to ask for Letter's of Recommendation from her primary bosses .... She called me crying when three of them said "why of course"....

Dealing with a basket case spouse has never been my forte...

Encourage her to find a fun hobby that she enjoys. Something that takes up loads of time, and hopefully little money.
