    Anybody replace their motor mounts?

I'm in need to do mine and it looks like a pita. I can use any pointers or encouragement I can get.

One video shows lifting the engine by jacking at the oil pan. I hate that idea.
Also shows using a fancy wrench.

    Ugh.
    Thanks in advance.

Any I have ever replaced is by jacking under the oil pan using a wooden brace to distribute the weight across the pan. This also prevents denting the oil pan. Just be careful not to try and jack it up too high and break things that are still connected to the vehicle and engine.

I am curious to know why you think you need to replace the motor mounts on a 2014 Engine?

The only mounts I have ever needed to replace was when they were damaged in an accident or on really old vehicles.

I had to bump it pretty good in reverse to get out of a hole on a very steep, challenging trail. Fully locked with 4:88 gears.
It immediately started making a grumbling noise in reverse. Now the engine shakes on startup and shutdown.
From what I've internetted, it sounds specifically like drivers side.

Have someone get in the truck started and place it in reverse gear and attempt to move with the brakes on hard while you watch the engine. Is it lifting too far up and the fan hitting the shroud?

Or you could jack under the engine and see if the motor mount rubber separates.

Ive never seen a mount separate for what you have described. You may be correct, but I've never seen it happen.

I will check it tomorrow. I've heard they start getting worn after 60k, and it sure feels and sounds like a motor mount.

I started it then moved to reverse and gave it some throttle, then drive, then park and off.
Usually it does a bigger clunk on shutoff and sometimes startup.

I didn't see anything unusual in your video. Looked pretty normal.

Are there any signs that the fan is hitting the plastic shroud? If no then I doubt you have a motor mount problem.

It doesn't look like the fan is hitting the shroud.
The clunk is pretty strong and so is the grumble in reverse.
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks.

Everything in your video looked and sounded normal to me. If you find the source of your problem post back we would like to know.

Have you checked your u-joints and u-bolts on the rear?

Not yet because of how it feels and sounds in the driver's seat.
I think u-joints are the next step though. U-bolts are easy, so I'll do that too.
    Thanks for the input!

Turns out my RCI skid crossmember got pushed against the trans and was causing issues.
Reverse sounded good after I removed it. I will observe everything else tomorrow.
Fingers crossed, but I think that did it.
