Hi, I have a 1999 tacoma with the turn signal stuck on only when the head lights are on also the marker for the turn signal stays on in the cab of the truck, when the head lights are off the turn signal works but it makes the guages the clock and heater controls flash with it. I checked most of the fuses that I could see in the cab and under the hood. I have a alarm and some other lights on my truck but I disconnected them all and nothing changed:confused: please help thankyou.

Check your bulbs (combo turn/parking) sometimes when a bulb goes bad the element shorts across the other and causes problems.

This is def the most likely cause. I would just disconnect the switch and see if the lights go out. Sometimes you can wiggle the switch and get it fix itself temporarily too.

Do your hazards work with the headlights on?

The wires coming out of the switch to the flasher are Green for the L/turn signal and Green/White for the R/turn signal. If you have a test light you should get 12v at those circuits when the switch is turned on.

You might check the ground at left side of the dash. It's called G202, your headlights, turn signals, flashers, & instrument cluster all ground through there, maybe the ground is bad and causing the problem? There is also a junction block connector just above your steering column that all those grounds go through, you might check that too. The wires are all White/Black.

Pretty much. When your turn on the switch to left or right it makes the connection for your turn signals. So if there is voltage going in but not coming out, it's the switch.

Just to recap for you Green is left, Green/White is right, and Blue/Red is power going into the switch.

I agree with the trailer lights. It sounds exactly like the trailer light convertor, I had the exact same random symptoms. They notoriously go bad for some reason on the Tacoma's.

I also had problems with a Uhaul trailer wiring converter box... I had my side marker lights come on with the brakes and they were flashing with the turn signals too. Try disconnecting all your trailer wiring and see if it fixes itself.

I'm having identical issues and also have a trailer light switch that was installed prior to when I bought the vehicle. I never use the adapter and it's spliced into the rear lights. Can anyone confirm that this is most likely the problem? If so should I just remove the wires that're spliced in to the rear lights?

So I finally figured out that my trailer light adapter in the rear was causing the arc. Since I never pull anything I just removed the trailer light adapter and BAM! Fixed. I'll repost if the problem re-surfaces. Thanks for the above tips guys.

There's probably a converter box somewhere in the back of your truck (I think it's 5-wire to 4-wire? That's what I think mine says on it). You can just unplug it to test it and if it is the culprit yes just take out all the splices.

My left signal stays on when headlights are on. When the headlights are off, the signals work fine, however the left side makes my dashboard and brake lights flast at the same time.

I changed my trailer hitch plug, and it worked for a day, now it's doing it again. My trailer light box is spliced into my tail light wires, is this easy to unsplice and remove? I never use my hitch.
