So sorry to hear of your troubles. Buying a new car/truck is an emotional experience and having unforeseen problems and an unresponsive dealer is an absolute nightmare.
My suggestion is to document your experience in writing. It should include dates, times, and people including their titles who you spoke with. If you have access to an attorney, have them send it on their letterhead. Making telephone calls is certainly an option, but nothing beats and endures like a well written letter sent by registered mail with return receipt. The jerks at the dealership will forward to their legal department who I imagine would side with you, as your case seems pretty clear-cut.

The 2GR-FKS in the unibody cars has a different layout and tuning from the Tacoma. Besides... it's an excellent engine. What's so bad about a truck sharing a V6 with a car? The Chevy LS platform and the Ford modular engine did it long before.

    Update:

I took some advice, called the advisor, told them I need an answer in 2 days whether its warranty or not, I can't give up my truck for 1-2 months.

No call back after 3 days, so I called the dealership, spoke to the manager, he said they won't give me an answer on whether its warranty or not until the parts arrive and they fully take my truck apart. He welcomed me to bring it to another dealership, but it would cost $375 to button the truck back up and the diagnostic fees.

Here is where things get spicy.

I told the manager to not touch anything until I called Toyota Corporate and figure out my options through them, he said the Toyota regional manager was going to be at their dealership that afternoon and he would have her call me. Two hours go by, I receive the phone call from the dealership, the "regional Manager" introduces herself over the phone as a Toyota corporate manager. I explained to her my situation, she said she would conduct a investigation and get back to me. I googled her name during our conversation because she put me on hold, her LinkedIN account says she is a secretary at the dealership im working with!!!! She picked back up, I confronted her about her job title, she corrected herself from earlier saying she isn't a regional manager, she is a personnel manager at that specific dealership, and she never claimed to work for corporate.

Manager must have been on the other line, because he immediately started talking saying things are being escalated to corporate and I should hear back first thing monday morning.
    WHAT A MESSSSSS

Talk about a crooked dealer, call corporate your self yesterday. Don't trust them to contact corporate at all.

Yeah, that's BS. They are definitely pulling something. Be adamant, don't agree to anything, don't pay anything, talk to corporate and report their shenanigans (maybe after it's fixed so they don't try to retaliate). If you want to go to a different dealer tell them you aren't paying for any diagnostic BS either and they can take that up with corporate as well as it's also part of the warranty.

Oh, and document, document, document everything - names, dates, what was said, etc.

They were contacted 30 seconds after the phone call. They are conducting their investigation as well, but backed the dealership saying "due to covid and unforeseen circumstances with supply and demand, parts may or may not be backordered due to chain issues".
    Duhhh

What in the world? I would pick a different dealer, this one is fucked. And make sure you tell Toyota that they had a Secretary posing as a corporate regional manager. That is insane. In fact, don’t worry about another dealer, just call corporate and let them handle it from here.

A supply backlog is a completely different thing than claiming a car wash broke your sunroof.

Ya parts may be trouble, but there is no reason the dealer should be giving this level of BS. Especially lying about having the "regional Manager" on site for you to talk to.

Someone nearby under warranty should F with them. Disconnect something in the sunroof and go in and see if they charge any diagnostics fees or any of this other bullshit. If they do, well, more evidence for corporate. If not, call them on it. And more evidence for corporate. Or maybe get one of those "Clyde on your side" kind of news people to investigate them.

@Cricket-0 You should consider reporting this dealer to your local consumer protection agency.

You should consider the possibility of needing a lawyer if this gets any worse. Sue for misrepresentation in them not honoring the warranty. Sue for fraud on account of their secretary pretending to be a regional manager.

Call Toyota corporate and explain it on these terms.

i was going to suggest bbb.
    useless? likely so.
but it will shine a light on the scummy dealership tactics. some consumers rely on bbb status given.
the impersonating a toyota corporate manager is really unforgivable business imho.
