Looking at upgrading wheels and tires on a 2022 SR DCSB midnight black. I’m not sure whether or not I want to keep 16’s or go up to a 17. Looking for suggestions or wheels/tire sizing and pics if possible for inspiration. I’m thinking I’d either go with a black or bronze wheel. I was looking at the TRD pros as well. Appreciate it.

Hard to beat SCS wheels in either 16 or 17 flavor.

Me personally I'd go 17's so you can clear larger brakes down the road if you so choose.

Plus 17's are getting easier to find good tires for and 16's are getting harder.

I also think that 16's look a little small on trucks but that's just conjecture.

I have a 2nd gen so dunno if pictures would help but I have SCS Stealth6 in 17" flavor and love them.

    Post it!

I bought wheels that were originally offered on the second gen. Always knew that’s what I wanted on my 3rd gen

Not the best picture but you can see the wheel pretty clearly here, my SCS center caps dried up and split but TRD caps fit perfectly and I like the look.

    They look good dirty.

Yeah I really like the TRD ones. I’m curious to see how 17s will look on a stock SR with no lift or leveling kit. I may try a leveling kit in the future. I just don’t want to do anything that may void the warranty.

Go as lightweight as your budget allows.. I swapped to 33lb rims - 54lb tires… and now I’m looking for another set….

Here are some pics of my SR5 with 16 inch wheels with 265/75/16 tires for your reference. Same color as your truck too.

If I didn't have my bronze methods, these would be the wheel I would run. Love these.

This is probably the size I’m going to end up going to. Any issues with rubbing? Does your truck have a leveling kit installed?

Yeah I looked into SCS. They have a negative offset I believe so I was nervous about potential rubbing. I think I’m gonna end up at 265/75/16s but not sure about what offsets would work.

I have the Rough Country 2 inch spacers up front and the Icon 1.5” AAL in the rear…I’m not anywhere close to rubbing. I’ve done measuring and I could even go up to 285/75/16 with little to no rubbing. I think the -10 offset of the wheels really helps.

Copy, would a stock SR tacoma be able to fit the 265/75/16 -10 offset. From what I can tell I should be good.

I might end up doing some fort of a lift but that would be after wheels and tires.

I can’t say for sure, because I did the spacer lift before the tires but I think you’d be okay because I have a ton of extra room.

Have you searched the forum? I’m pretty sure I’ve seen some threads with guys who run those tires on a stock Tacoma and have no issues.
