Hello World, My name is Brian, This is my first truck ever and my ever wanting truck so I adore my truck. But Now I want to enhance the looks with a 2.5-3inch lift for now I have to keep the stock 265/65/17 . So I need the best and safest way to go. I sometimes take the 14 hour drive back to Pa to see family and friends so I would like it to be somewhat comfy too. Please help me. I think there should be a book for me like " What to do on a truck for Dummies " for me cause when I call different shops I sound like one when asking about which lift kit or how.

    BUILT, not bought...
    welcome man.

I am no expert on lifts, as I am a street truck guy. Might I suggest doing a search for threads about lifts, and spending some time reading through. Might help you understand the who's/whats's/when's/where's/why's & the how.

Take brianr advice. Its all about what you want and just when you think you know something else comes along. I just got my lift done after about a month of reading threads and asking questions. I started out with the thoughts that i was going to lift my truck for $700.00 complete.. not sure where that number came from but I'm 1400.00 into it and yes its lifted but now i need to do more, Uca's, rock sliders, some new coils maybe, hijack, and so on. Once you start you can stop. Hey wait a minute, maybe we need to have better control on TW the addictions are out of control:D(see gun control thread).

Oh yeah !! Welcome to TW:D

welcome to tw.............from rock hill,sc!! if you are wanting a basic lift, but have a good ride too, i'll suggest a toytec 3 inch lift, with aal's in the rear and either the factory coils up front with some bilstein 5100's all the way around, or some toytec or ome coils for the front with some bilstein 5100's or ome shocks. and getting a diff drop is a good idea if you have a 4x4, and a set of total chaos uca's to finish it all off. the uca's are expensive, but they make it possible to get stock alignment back, so they are a good idea too.
