Like I said, Had. It took up too much counter space. Boy, did it slice like there's no tomorrow. I can go as fast as I want or as slow as I want.

Clean up was a pain if I did a thorough job but a quick clean was a breeze.

Gang help me. How to tell when watermelon is ripe on the vine???

 

Smell ripe? Thump check sounds hollow

 

Sound is there!

 

When underside (side that is exposed to the ground) turns yellow and the nearest curlyque, at the vine turns brown then its ready to pick.

 

Have you “manned up” and tried your ghost peppers yet? You can always dry them, shred, and sprinkle them around your other veggies to drive away critters. I recommend wearing nitrile gloves so you don’t accidentally touch your eyes or nose after handling the peppers.

yes when the tendril is fully brown it’s ripe. This tool all summer to figure out last year. We got it right this summer. The tendril off the stem is the one to watch.

 

I have some bell peppers that are white and some that are black . My son gave me a pack of seeds . Never saw these before . I will grab pics later .

 

What does a hollow watermelon sound like?

My neighbor watermelon creep under the fence to see me. I couldn't tell if it was ripe yet. It was a little heavy for its size. The color was right, it wasn't squishy, but firm. The neighbor came over and grab the watermelon and pulled the vine back under the fence.

 

Does peppers get its color from at which stage you pick them at? Green would be early picking, red would be later picking.
