Engine choices were the 223 Mileage Maker 6 or the 292 Y Block V8

The Y block was so called due to the deep skirt design of the block which went well below the crankshaft center line. This results in a very rigid block, also a heavy one, Chrysler B & RB big block engines are also built this way. (383, 413, 440, etc)

Y Block, notice the canister oil filter, just like the Tacoma.

Compare to a Chev 350, the block skirt ends about the crankshaft center line.

When I'm that high, I leave everything I can't tether to my body in the truck. It's just not worth it.

This is from after lunch we had some preps to knock out.

Four total, it just happened...

Daisy, the tough cat yard foreman was the (crazy) neighbors cat, she decided that she was moving in with us.

Quincy, limped into the dooryard at the garage one day all beat up, barely moving on 2 legs, open wounds, must have tangled with a car, I fed him and he disappeared, 2 months later he reappeared - just a bag of bones, I fed him a few days and trapped him -- I wasn't on his A list at that moment...

Bizzy, a wet shivering tiny little kitten found at night on a cold rainy street in late October.

Bonnie, came to us about 6 months old, undernourished and with a bad smell too... She was going to be dumped somewhere (I sincerely hope fate, karma or higher power has special plans for people who do things like that), so she came to live with us.

Quincy looks just like our cat lightning. He went out Sunday and we haven’t seen him since which is weird for him, hopefully he makes it back.

I saw a box gmc that upon closer look was a "High Sierra" yesterday. Little different trim than the Chevy of that era. Good looking truck, sounded like a manual too.
