Noticed after my truck sat unused for a month that shifter was difficult to move from park to drive without lots of effort. Managed to loosen it up by moving shifter from park to low multiple times. Recently it’s started again and now Global OBD2 with code PO705 appeared on engine reader. Also suggests transmission range sensor circuit is an issue, level 2 of 3. Has always been a good truck with 310k. Any thoughts? Is this repair for a dealer that knows what their doing? Thanks

Probably the range sensor, they get corroded and bind up. Typically it's a chore to get them off bcause they get corroded to the shaft and have to be heated/cut off.

Thanks for your response. Is this an expensive fix at a dealership?

    One quick word of advise:

Do not beat on the shaft that goes into the transmission! It can cause internal damage to the shifting mechanism which cost $$$$ to repair.
