    Also, does anyone know how to or know someone that can either do retrofits or bhlm on an extra set of OEM headlights I have? I don't want to do it myself and mess something up. I talked to some guy in the HS area, but for the price he quoted me with supplying my own parts was almost as much as buying them completely built from TEQ Customs.

    Honestly just take your time and do it yourself. It’s not hard, just tedious. Since they’re an extra set you have the luxury of working a little at a time and your truck will still be drivable. Just take an hour each evening and you’ll get them done pretty fast.

    Hankins Store has reopened. I stopped in a couple of weekends ago and it looks great. I want to go back and visit it and the area again. I think it would make a good central location for some off-road meet-ups on area trails. I think the trail is named Indian Creek Trail or Treet Rd. The trail will become more fun and scenic as we get more water. I'm looking to find a series of scenic trails that people can enjoy without breaking an axle. This seemed to be a good start. I think I'll be going back on 8/27 weekend to explore more.

    I'm happy to see that place open back up. Old Mr Hankins had a toyota truck parked out there for years. I've warmed my toes by that huge pot belly stove in the back and bought sandwiches there more time than I can count. If you've never been inside, it's worth seeing. It's on the historic register and was built in 1922.

    Man I was just down that way in June! Turned off a few miles before this spot.

    Incredibly scenic area. 10/10 will be returning

    O man! Lots of memories as a little kid in that store. Great to see it is re-open. Never had a better cold cut sandwich in my life. And yes that stove is a beast.

    My dads best friend built a cabin real close to there. I remember some really cold nights in that cabin and having to use an outhouse.

    There are two different groups of rental cabins up there that I saw on the loop. I think this one is named Matties Place. I should have photographed the other one. I'll be back.

    We should make a fall/winter TW run up through there, I'd definitely be open to that. I haven't been on any trails since last winter.

    @TerraNerva and @PinnaclePete

    Just checking to see if you guys remember an old logging road in western Pulaski County that locals called the CCC Road?

    Heading west on HWY 10 it was past the old fork in the road old HWY 10 went into the lake. I was out in that area last winter. There is an iron gate that appears to have closed the old road. The last time I drove on the old CCC road must have been sometime between 1969 and 1970. I learned how to drive on that old road and a stretch of old HWY 10 that connected with HWY 113 and dead-ended at the lake. A ditch was dug to keep people from driving down old HWY 10 to the lake. I think the ditch is still there. The old road has been absorbed into the earth and covered with trees and grown.

    If I find time, I may take the drone and get it to fly over the old road to scout and see if I can remember any of the areas.

    No worries if you are too young to remember these old roads and when Lake Maumelle was new.

    I didn't move to Little Rock until 1984, so that was likely after what you're referring to. Curious to see what you find out there.

    I love my Trutrac. I installed at the same time as a gear swap, so I just got a new 3rd member already setup from ECGS.

    The Trutrac works seamlessly on all types of terrain. It's the best LSD I've had on any vehicle, plus it never wears out. It does require resistance to work, but the Toyota applies brake once it senses wheel slip, like with a lifted tire, and it immediately transfers power to the other tire. If it doesn't, all you have to do is tap the brake, but having to do that is rare. It wouldn't be my first choice for a dedicated rock crawler, but for a rig that sees as much highway as varied off road terrain, it is great.

    I was going to have one installed before Colorado this year, but we leave in 3 weeks so ran out of time. Its still on my list. I'll look into ECGS. I'm on the fence about buying a 4th gen Tacoma next year tho, so I may wait and see.

    Part 1. I found the west end of old HWY 10 and HWY 113 on Google Earth. The red lines show the old road before it was abandoned after Lake Maumelle was built. I remember when the old road dead-ended at the lake.
