    :hattip:
    Yes
For the added lights, chassis ground. There's a hole next to the factory ground (between rear light assembly area and rear tire-driver's side)

Wishing my truck was one year younger at this point. So to be clear. I need to run a separate wire if I want cargo lamps w/ my 3 rd brake light. There is no preexisting wire harness from behind the dash near my left knee??

Remove any of the rear lamp assemblies (x2 bolts and pull) and check for the plug...

I’ll replace the 3rd brake light. Anyways and figure a wiring solution later if it isn’t there.

So that harness can be used for bed lighting?
What about a wired harness not being used for my cargo light under the headliner??

I guess this is about all I can find on cargo light/switch install. The taillight portion looks easy enough but the dash part is a bit daunting for me--somewhat of a nerd. :notsure:

So, I ordered and have both parts that I need, I think. The black rocker switch for the dash and the blue relay switch/plug thingy. I had hoped it would be as simple as getting into the dash area and connecting these components. Heck, I can't find any instructions on removing the small panel on the dash--the panel that also houses the "blank" for the cargo light switch. I have the install instructions from Toyota but they only show illustrations for the taillight portion of the process. Then they refer you to their repair manual for the switch install. I downloaded the manual and searched and found the cargo switch stuff--not much help at all.

Is there a video or set of illustrations on how to remove that small panel on the lower left of the dash? :help:

Reach behind and push. MESO has an install video. I think he used a knife, but he has mad skills. I like the reach around maneuver.

Using a dash removal tool (plastic spatula type) place to top edge of the cubby and pop open all corners.
