And this is the second time! The first time I noticed it on a trip from Tucson to San Antonio and fixed it with some Gorilla glue when I got back. Now its happened again and I dont feel like dropping insane amount of money on purchasing a new Air Box. I'd rather spend that money on Mods or Crap from REI. Im looking for something stronger then Gorilla Glue. Something that can hold up to the heat under the engine and the vibrations and violent shaking of not slowing down when going over speed bumps, or offroading.

    Any Ideas?

On another note, The color of my truck is really gay and I want to paint it. Anyone in Tucson know of good shops where you can get the most bang for your buck?

Can you fit some kind of screws to join the tube and the air-box together. Then put some kind of Sensor Safe Sealent or Silicone between the gap

Hmmm...never seen that before. Sounds like this will keep happening...you may want to incorporate a sleeve of some sort for more "slack" between the airbox and tube. Just my 2¢.

I never thought about screwing the tube and airbox together, you might be on to something there

sensor safe silicon sealant. used it for the deck plate mod and it holds up perfectly. but it looks like you have a good excuse to buy a CAI

So I've been sporting Duct tape because I've been lazy. I've just applied several strips of duct tape to hold the arm in place to the airbox. So far, no problems but it looks tacky and the ducttape is bound to give up sooner or later. I'm going to run to Lowes and buy some plastic Epoxy. It looks to to be the best type of glue and is often used in automotic and aviation industries. The glue is both quick bonding and super strong/durable. Its also water repellent and will create a good seal. I dont think this stuff is sensor safe though so I'm going to remove the MAF sensor while this thing sets. I'll be sure to apply this very liberally creating a very thick seal around the edges. I'll also probably leave it out for a couple of days and carpool to work or ride my bike to allow any kind of vapors from the glue to dissapaite. Finally. I'll reinforce with Black duct tape so it can fully bond and set to the material a couple of days longer once installed and coupled back to the intake. That's probably not neccessary but whatever. Looks like the Epoxy will work much better then Gorrilla glue in this application. Thought about using some sort of super glue that would melt and bond plastics together but it seems like harder plastics shed the melted plastic away, making it useless.

I'll be sure to repost the results after a couple of weeks/months to let anyone with the same problem know how it worked out.

Ha! I was wondering the same thing. I havent a clue. Perhaps When I put it the Air box back after doing the Deckplate mode, I handled it too tough in just the wrong spot, but the thing is, It didn't break til several months later.

I'm assuming you replaced the first one with a dealer part? To save some money and maybe get a better unit, find a Dorman part: http://www.dormanproducts.com/p-1894-258-504.aspx?pymmeid=7969727.
Dorman, when engineering an aftermarket replacement part, will beef up problem areas to eliminate recurring problems. Most auto parts stores have access to Dorman, and you can probably get one off Ebay or Amazon.

Heck your motor mounts. I broke my intake in the same location and my motor mounts were shot.
